I’ve been watching racing for years and heard kinds of race callers. Is she the best? No. Is she the worst? Also no. I think people want to put her down simply because she’s a woman and they’ve always listened to a man call the race all their lives. I thought about what this call would have been like if a man had called it EXACTLY the same as she did and honestly? She did fine. No one would be saying anything if it were a man’s voice.
Good to see some progeny of the Great Arrogate pulling G1 wins. With his tragic passing at a young age for premier stallions it will take horses like Seize the Grey to keep Arrogate alive and flourishing in the pedigree lines. It means everything - every track announcer has to learn on the job and she has obviously done so.
