It’s almost looks like from ww2, I feel sad because it’s looks so destroyed but worse but still barely works with unstable dying blower 😮
Also it’s great for making abandoned city or something with this thing…

    dying federal signal thunderbolt thunderbolt?

I made a version of this thunderbolt where it is almost completely different. To describe it: My version isn't pole mounted and rather is almost contained in a white utility box with the head sticking out. However, the head also has a slightly taller chopper tube, has a custom projector rather than entirely lacking one, and a different chopper motor. In other words, I essentially created a system 7026 look alike which has a condition more worse than an actual System 7026 In Kuwait as seen in the videos of the Gulf War.

Here's my apparent backstory behind how my version came to be this way: (some parts might not be real but hey)
This lucky Thunderbolt System 7000 was of the 1003 model, aka the System 7026. It was manufactured as part of the System 7000 series where the siren was housed in a corrosion resistant aluminum and steel enclosure that also contained the blower, controls, and an engine driven generator. The siren was given the serial number "T-104" during production.
In the early years of it's life back in the late 1980's, No. T-104 was mounted on a steel lattice tower
in Wichita Falls, Texas. This was because the entire assembly weighed around 4000 pounds and was limited in how it could be mounted.
The tower was originally designed to support a large water tank, but it was later modified to accommodate the 4000 pound siren. T-104 was also quite costly to build and purchase, and was pretty much used as a temporary siren within Wichita Falls until the 90's.
Sometime in 1992, the siren was removed and it was replaced by a Federal Signal 2001-SRN. During this time, the States were shipping excess supplies to the Philippines, which included a couple of Thunderbolt System 7026's, ACA Penetrator 50 sirens, and other surplus sirens for warning. That's how this particular unit consequently turned up on a Filipino building roof. In the following years, it was used as a flood siren, but there were never any Filipinos who gave the siren the proper maintenance it needed.
By 2001, some parts of Thunderbolt number T-104 had eroded so much that there were holes on some parts of the siren. The majority of these holes were on the projector and were large enough to possibly compromise the entire head itself. The siren also mostly appeared to be rusty and was slowly deteriorating.
No. T-104 also tended to suffer from a systemic failure in its RCM that caused numerous little malfunctions. Even with a rust proof enclosure, the siren had intermittent faults in the RCM due to the lack of proper maintenance. It also started to develop electrical contact issues within the chopper tube at this time. By this point. The slip ring brushes were entirely screwed, which were proven by how much it was wavering. As a result, the siren was not receiving enough power to the chopper.
However in 2002, there were relatively few Filipino mechanics who knew how to service the thunderbolt and P50 sirens, having been trained by Americans. A few eventually got to work repairing the thunderbolts over a 3 year span. However, work first started with Thunderbolt number T-104. 2003 saw the shipment of a 4/5 port Model 2T chopper from the states as well as fabrication of a new shorter projector for the siren. The 5/6 port chopper was swapped out for the 4/5 chopper in February 2004 and the newer shorter projector replaced the original thunderbolt horn, which was almost corroded by this point. By May 2004, the original RCM was switched out for a brand new one sourced from the United States.
By this time, approximately 14 sirens were decommissioned and made non-operational. Nearly all of these sirens but two System 7026 units have been removed. these two operational sirens were the last ones to survive within the Philippines. One of the last operational thunderbolts, Thunderbolt no. T-104 was one of the two remaining thunderbolt sirens that were in the civil defense siren system within the Philippines. It continued to be used to warn people of floods until 2008, despite being obsoleted
      by alternative warning methods.
Being left unmaintained for nearly ten years along with the negligence of maintenance crews had snafued state liability for further maintenance of T-104 and the rest of the siren system in the Philippines; exposure to the Filipino sun and rain and the grueling sea crossing had all left their marks and some of the sirens, including thunderbolt siren no. T-104, arrived back to America in a rather sorry state. The siren's parts have eroded due to the conditions the siren was in doubled with the lack of maintenance the siren had to endure on Filipino soil. On February 2021, Thunderbolt siren no. T-104 returned to America, being the only remaining siren to be brought back to the states largely intact and functional. It was eroded to the point that it was originally going to be sent away to be scrapped by a local scrapyard. However, plans eventually surfaced for this last operational thunderbolt to be restored by the fledgling McCranie Warning Systems. However, museum owners started to protest against this decision. As a result, McCranie ultimately ditched their earlier plans for restoring the siren and soon held a conference about what to do with the siren. After the conference, McCranie settled on donating the siren to a museum, but with the promise that it would be looked after by the staff.
The following month, T-104 was restored to working order, but the aged appearance was preserved.
To prevent the siren from corroding to the point of failure, the rusty parts were doused in clear acrylic sealer, but the rust was removed for the functional parts.
In July, the partially unrestored siren was installed in the Juan Bernardino Civil Defense Museum in Madrid, California.
