My coconut oil is perpetually melted, thanks Australia.
Ang Berry Better than living in Wisconsin where your butter is perpetually frozen
Ang Berry
Lol, Louisiana too
StarryNight1313 you don’t need a fridge in the winter
Same as Florida until winter hits!
You are the judge.. of your fudge.
Unless you're just too busy..being delicous
"We're not cheap; we're creative." THIS. THIS IS MY LIFE MOTTO. xD
You forgot the cayenne,
4:52 we're not cheap, we're creative
*My life motto*
Dutch process cocoa has been processed with an alkalizing agent. It tends to have a better color and is less acidic. In other words, it tastes better.
Okay two things - "And as always"
this video made me laugh out loud. Favorite line - "What missing piece?". Thank you for always bringing a little sunshine into our lives. God bless you.
Woww... This fudge is very easy to make... I have seen many chefs using dark chocolates then cocoa and its quiet a lengthy process ...but the recipe that you shared is quick and healthy which can be made easily
You my man, are my hero!!! I had my niece and her new husband for dinner, both Vegans. I made a huge hit with this fudge, they even asked if they could take home the remaining pieces. I have to admit myself ... I actually like it better than the regular fudge. I may become a vegan based on this recipe.
I have never commented on your video before. I am so in LOVE with you and your recipes and your sense of humor!!!
This video made me laugh so much with all the humor xD
"You're the Taylor Swift of your edible gift." Was the best line. I'm also going to make these at Christmas time and see how it turns out :D
Love it! Thank you so much for making it vegan!
I thought that box was a lot bigger from the preview...
Chef John made a #vegan fudge recipe? A miracle indeed!
check out the blog post chica, wink wink ;)
Ariyele Ressler Aha! It all makes sense now. You are the confectionary muse!
What's up girl. I'm subscribed to you now too! Thank you for making vegan food and sharing it with us.
I wanna replace walnuts with hazelnuts. Both are great but hazelnut chocolate is the best thing ever imo lol
WyvernKiller02 I've done it and it's delicious
Yes!
I tried these 2 days ago. They taste amazing! BUT you have to freeze them! Gave my sister a piece on a plate and she left half of it on the plate. When she came back to eat it, it melted! (And all the oil makes you realise how naughty this is)
Keeping it in the fridge is okay, melts easily on your fingers though
4/5 Stars
coconut oil is actually really good for you, some people eat it by the spoonful as a supplement :)
Ive become vegan a month ago, but I still watched your videos because I love them, now I love them even more. Thanks Chef, you're awesome :)
Ok so I made these and I'm going to make the following statements as someone who isn't vegan and thinks most "vegan" recipes are horrible.
These are great, and by great I mean I believe I like these better than regular fudge. Super easy to make and I like my chocolate products consumed frozen anyhow so that step works out pretty well for me. I did however use hazelnuts instead of walnuts as I like those better.
OmegaGamingNetwork I'm wondering in reality how many vegan recipes you have actually tried.
Loads actually. I don't state I dislike something unless I try it. also bear in mind when I refer to vegan recipes, I refer to those that are attempting to replace meat or animal products as an equivalent. Straight up vegetable dishes are not included in that statement.
Macadamia nuts, yes!
I'm not vegan. But I think if you have an open mind, most vegan dishes are really good you can't expect vegan meat vegan eggs vegan cheese to be exactly the same. If you go in with that mindset, it's really good.
Ok so

That Pilates comment cracked me up! :) x

SmoochBoosh Not true! I'm obsessed with Food Wishes and I've been Vegan for over 3 years! I get a lot of inspiration from his recipes. So many things are easy to veganize. Plus he's super quirky and fun to listen to.

Those look awesome.
My sister makes some delicious fudge that is a family favorite- especially for one of her sons. She went to the store earlier to grab the ingredients so she could send a batch to him. However, she just finished watching ‘What the Health’ with her husband and mother-in-law, and is hoping to find a really good vegan recipe to send him the instead. I remembered Chef John posted this recipe so I’m sharing it with her.
Thanks for the recipe Chef John~
Be well, stay kind and blessings to all~

the first time I already have all the ingredients for a recipe!! gonna go make this now! c:
Uprated. It's easy to get Dutch-process cocoa powder here in France and I have so many free walnuts from the country. I haven't had huge success with coconut oil but this looks fun! I have to rewatch this as I missed what sweetens this, but I do eat a plain cocoa bean sometimes and they are bitter but very satisfying. Very nice, pretty gift!
omg you did it!! A vegan recipe. Can't thank you enough!
thumbs up, to a real practical and funny chef. cheers from Nepal.
This is so great, Please make more vegan recipes!

You're a fan of the dutch AND a vegan recipe? My year is made! .. I got a little generous with the 'year' part because it's almost the end of the year.. but you know, you get the idea.
OMG!!! 'Teeth Marks Don't Lie' - had me rolling around in stitches!!!
Mouth watering
Love it! Finally a fudge I CAN eat. :D
your video's are brilliant!
I made these and they are AMAZING!! Vegan approved ;D
looks amazing! i will try that! :D thank you
I make something very much like this I use Honey instead of maple syrup & I add chopped raw nuts & hemp nut too along with ground flax & coconut & place this on a bed of desiccated coconut & again on the top. Delicious
I used virgin coconut oil. It tastes very coconutty, but still very chocolatey. It was much more viscous at the mixing stage, but it’s amazing, and I can’t believe it’s vegan.
Thanks for this recipe. I love that it's vegan
hahaha "You are the taylor swift of your vegan gift"
