- Get dunked on: GaMetal takes on Megalovania from one of the hottest new games: Undertale!
Over the course of about a month, I've been getting non-stop requests to do a song from Undertale, and the majority of the time it's for Sans' battle theme Megalovania. In fact, I think this just might be the most requested GaMetal song of all time.
Megalovania didn't originate from Undertale, it actually comes from an Earthbound rom hack made by Toby Fox (Undertale's creator) several years ago. The Undertale version is in a completely different key (D instead of A) so it sounds a lot different compared to the original, despite being almost the same rhythmically.
Undertale is an amazing game and I highly suggest checking it out if you haven't yet. Hope you enjoy this remix!

When I first saw this in my recommended before I even knew anything about Undertale, I assumed Megalovania was the name of a town in the game.

That's it- if the Hard Mode in Undertale actually gets completed and released, THIS should play in the boss fight against Sans instead of the original Megalovania.

Oh, God... Hard Mode Sans would be literally impossible.
It probably won't happen, I think he's preoccupied with hive swap at the moment (I'm really only here because I'm a massive Homestuck dweeb but I also like his covers, honestly Homestuck megalovania > undertale megalovania.)
In this gamemode,sans has 9000 health points,a MISS ability,and all attacks are instant kills.
Ya know, lately I’ve been thinking about that, about what could change:
Toriel wises up to your actions, and doesn’t hold back.
Sans jumps you immediately upon exiting the ruins, but since you’re only LV7 or so, you don’t kill him, so he retreats to fight you later.
The dogs put up a more organized resistance, and are far more difficult to spare, Dogamy and Dogaressa becoming unsparable if you kill the other.
Papyrus... doesn’t change. Well, not here, at least. As you go along, you see more and more hints that he knew more than he let on, that he knew you would probably kill him, if you would go so far as to kill so many other possible cool friends...
But he tried to befriend you anyway.
Glad Dummy still fights you.
You track down Gaster, and kill him.
Undyne is similar, but more brutal, and takes more turns to kill
Mettaton Neo is just as anticlimactic...
But you find a save point in the hall between the Neo fight and the elevator out of the core.
You enter the elevator and find... Alphys?
She starts a schpiel about her being a coward, but then...
A voice appears thru your phone.

There’s a kill switch in the elevator, but she’s guarding it, and she’s being sheilded by electricity. You need either yellow soul mode or the gun to damage her without taking damage.

Sans fight starts as normal, but...
When you seemingly kill him, Asgore appears, taking the hit. He’s got the souls.
Your soul gets surrounded by a familiar Attack.
Flowey.
Now you have to dodge 3 bosses attacks a turn.

ASGORE, ATTACK 255, DEFENSE 255. The king of all monsters
Try to use the pie to heal:
“The smell reminded Asgore of someone...
Suddenly, recollection flashes in his eyes! He grasps his trident more firmly. Attack up! Def up!”

Apparently, killing someone’s wife makes them angry”
The scathing commentary is back, after its long absence you’re accostumed to in the Bad Time Run.
Finally, you kill them all. And the game... autosaves?
Chara appears.
“Greetings. I am...
...forget it. You already know exactly who I am. And yet, you haven’t told me a thing about yourself. Not even your name.
...Frisk? Your name is Frisk?
...No. not the name of the human. I meant YOUR name.
...truthfully, it doesn’t matter. Neither the who or the what matter anymore. There’s truthfully only one thing I want to know.”
Draws real knife
“W H Y”
Fight starts, you’re knocked to 1hp. After your extended Genocide run, your LV is much higher than it would normally be. Now it’s at 30.
Chara continues to question you throughout the fight, as to WHY you would go so far, why you would even drag someone back to life just to kill them.
You finally manage to hit them, and it does a nasty bit of damage, over half. They look almost surprised, not just that you hit them, but that you could damage them that much when they’re already dead.
They then reveal they kno this isn’t a first run. They will remember whether you destroyed the world before, or whether you saved everyone, just to drag them all back to oblivion.
Phase 2, they also confess that they themselves are unsure how they can be stable as just your excess determination with no matter to form in.
Well, you DID bring something to fix that.
You’re covered in the stuff actually, physical matter with live essence in it.
Monster dust.
The wind begins to howl as they absorb it, and the results are.. unpleasant. The monsters in true lab were at least just a few. This is the lingering sentiments of every monster in the underground, held together only by Chara’s unending, undying hatred of YOU.

WELCOME TO MY SPECIAL HELL.
They use a mix of attacks from all common monsters, as the boss theme goes from a remix of megalo back to something akin to a corrupted, fast paced yet depressing mix of the amalgamate theme.
You fight this phase, and then...
The dog dropped the artifact!
Chara proceeds to use it to regain a stable form, much like their original form from life, but...
It’s just... wrong. They are surrounded by a spiral wind carrying dust, and their skin seems to shimmer, almost like they’re made of water in the form and color of a human child.
The final fight begins. Through the final phase, if you die, they don’t repeat the original attack pattern, being aware of everything from before the reload. And this just makes them angry. Indeed, each time you come back , and the weaker they get, the more their spiteful mockery turns into babbling, word salad angrish, that would be almost funny if it weren’t so... horrifying. Eventually, they too, perish.
They then reveal you’ve just doomed yourself to wander the void alone, forever. You killed the only one who knew how to fix the world. You will be trapped in a prison of your own creation, longing for death, yet unable to die.
They then... stop laughing.
“Mom... dad... I failed. I couldn’t stop them. I wasn’t strong enough. You believed I was your hope and I... I betrayed you all...”
“And.. (hacking cough), A-Azzy... I-I’m s-or-ry. I really a-am...”
They begin to dissolve into the void
“a n... i d i o t. . .”
This is the second best song literally ever conceived of and the first best is another one of your remixes, so you guys are basically the gods of the music world

While Undertale has my favourite version of Megalovania , I wish more people did remixes of the Homestuck version. I think it makes for better remixes because it has an extra part that doesn't exist in the other versions.
