As winter creeps upon us, I never thought there'd be so much bliss in sipping my hot chocolate and watching the world go by, oh how i wonder what it all means. is this bliss that i feel happiness or silence. i can hear the snow fall so quietly and yet some how it sounds so loud. i sit on this roof top listening to sounds of the quite night, it brings so much peace and then suddenly feel lost almost Wanderlust. sorry hope you dont mind i just wanted to add to your comment

I will leave the link at the end of the comment below my response to Taco; a short response to what he said, and also a very descriptive detail behind the meaning of the poem. *Taco*, If by "Clingly" you are inferring that this is about me being overly attached to a girlfriend that is leaving me, you are mistaken. (Although I can see how it might be interpreted that way). But the poem is actually about my Mother who is currently dying of cancer. The beginning is more or less about me confronting my own desire for comfort. With only me and her in the house; I cry, and no one is around to console me. She is the one who is 'Rightfully selfish', because in her condition she is entitled to be. After a brief callous moment, I dismiss my own needs. Then the rest is essentially an internal dialog in which I am debating with myself the duality of confronting my Mother in tears seeking her affection, or if I should shield her from the moment of sorrow brought up within myself. Wondering if I should expose her to it. On one hand, if I break down she would know how much I love her, but it would come with a cost, because it would burden her to know how her death is going to leave me perilously broken; a death she already refuses to accept, especially in her somewhat confused state. On the other hand, I could weep in seclusion, and don't induce her with the grip of her dire situation. Her hope is quite bound to mine and it is important to keep her morale up. Either way the questionings therein are redundant, as I have broken down, and hidden some moments of sadness from her, both many times now. It's more of an analyzation of the choices and their impacts; questions I have when I find myself pacing in such a moment. I don't think either decision is right or wrong, they are both needed in their times. She has a lot of trouble sleeping so sometimes it's not right that I disturb her with my own feelings. Hey man, I've been going through your playlist and reading all of your corresponding poetry. You're incredibly talented and your work is beautiful. My condolences for your mother, I've been through the exact same thing myself with my own mother. Life can be very cruel sometimes. The best thing you can do is hold back the tears and give her all of your positive attention so she doesn't feel alone. But don't ever let her catch you upset - save your grieving for your friends who will then in turn be there for you. If you can keep that up until the very end then you know you did the best job a son can do. Take care man and all the best.
