today we are doing a vband convversion on thius maxsapeedingrods gt3582 turbo, getting rid of the aannoying 4 bolt flange and no more need for gaskets.

Gotcha this means that your flange is warped brother i would try to sand the flange flat before giving up and welding! Your prolly stripping the bolt to get it to seal correct
