I was at the game, went from crickets at 4-1 to absolutely deafening high fiving hugging random people popcorn and beer from 7 aisles over landing in ur lap 10 minutes later.
How much does a playoff ticket go for in Vancouver?

It definitely wasn't crickets at 1-4. I was also at the arena and while it was definitely a lot quieter then even the highs before the game started last night, it was still louder then plenty of regular season games I've been to for the Canucks. So crickets is undermining the energy of the crowd even when we were down.
But holy shit you're absolutely right about the crowd at the end of the 3rd! Never high fived so many people I don't know before! And the volume, my god. Even after the game ended and people are exiting, it was still an absolute buzz of noise! Loved it.
Enjoy because in hockey it can only last 1 day to the next and is back to tactical drawing board 😆

@@safejewel2072 to be fair, the only goal in this game I see as Silovs' fault is the 4th one. Nothing could be done about the first one, second time he was screened by his own teammates and then they jumped off the puck and didn't block it. The third was just a deflection. There is nothing he (or any other goalie) could or would have done differently.
@@ritvarsberzins9426 agree, not much he could do about the first 3 goals and even the 4th came off Myers stick and deflected down. Besides, Silovs didn't need to be a world better in this series, he just has to be better than Skinner.

Both Western Conference matchups blew a 3 goal lead, just food for thought.
Dallas was up comfortably and then blew it in the 3rd, Oilers lost with literally 8 minutes remaining, shows games are won and lost in mere minutes both favorites threw away tens of minutes of hard work.
Lesson: hockey is a 60m game, and anything can happen even in the final minutes. 3 goal leads are NOT safe.
Whelp guess this is another reminder that hockey is a 60 minute game.

Can’t talk shit about Silovs, kid is our 3rd stringer, he shutout the preds game 6. He’s a rookie goalie and barely had any experience against the fastest offensive team in the league.
If the nucks can stay out of the box, it’s going to be a tough time for the oilers.
Goals three and four for EDM were a bit flukey. Just like some of ours. I expect things to tighten up tomorrow

@@samuelpopovich5488 3 goals werent his fault, those are Ian Coles fault for being a dumbass 3 separate times. He was good when he needed to be, Ian Cole put the Canucks in the position of being down 3-1. The only goal that was his fault was the 4th one where it goes off Myers stick where Silovs is expecting it up high and not staying right on the ice.

Was at the arena and definitely feel like the crowd managed to get into Skinner's head. Started chanting "SKIN-errrr" not long before the first Canucks goal, and that just egged the crowd on to up the anti any time the Canucks scored or there was a chance of them scoring. Wonder how that will play out over the series!
I’m really liking our depth (canucks). I thought we played to our style to a tee. Yes the first was rough but we took over the rest of the game. Proud of these boys. Going to be a great series!

Rather then say the Oilers blew it, I would say the Canucks rose to the occasion. If Ian Cole wasn't in the line up for the Canucks the score would have been 5-1 Canucks.

Only 4 shots in the second too. Csnucks dominated from the second on. Difference was Oilers got 2 lucky goals in the second. Based on play it should have been 2-2 after the second.
They definitely only played about 35 minutes of the game. I'm not sure why this is amazing to nucks fans though.

Oilers haven't won a game against Vancouver since last season in January 2023. When they finally get a win, that monkey will be off their back and the Canucks are going to have a ridiculous battle. That said, I think Vancouver has more depth offensively and defensively and that's not counting Petersson and Hoglander who have been invisible in the playoffs as far as scoring

lol dude I think we just finished paying off Luongos contract! I despise these huge long contracts in hockey, players get quite slower as they age, by the time they’re arguably good enough for a decent contract they don’t have to many top seasons left! Lol

Both games last night were crazy for very different reasons. I feel like Canucks may be the team of destiny this year, just like the Panthers last year. The big question mark for me is Silovs. He’s been on or off so far these playoffs, but if he can at least be an average goalie Vancouver can go very far.
Demko could potentially be back for games 5/6/7.
The Oilers need to get this series done soon as possible.
I know that’s our 3rd stringer out there, I honestly think he’s going to be an awesome goalie one day soon!

I wouldn't say there's questions about Vancouver goaltending really. Sure, Silovs didn't have the best game, but he's been playing exceptionally well for a young rookie goaltender, even getting a shutout to close out the series. He's been pretty phenomenal and obviously isn't going to always have a superb game, as even the best goalies of all time have bad games. His nerves have been really solid as well which was my biggest surprise of such a young goalie.

Gretzky and even Lemieux are leagues above McDavid and that's not hate as he is an incredible player but all the stats and championships they have will tell you that.
Nothing against him, he’s got a shut out in the playoffs ffs as well but that was technically our 3rd string goalie, against one of the best lines in the league, if not the best! I love the oilers too but canucks first!!

Mc David switched gears from last year. He went from basically scoring at will to having a pass first mentality (with over 100 assist) to keep everyone on the team engaged. True leadership move!! But he is going to GO OFF next game, he will not allow them go down 2 games.
Tbf I don't necessarily think the issue was or is McDavid. The Oilers issue is being a team that relies way too heavily on special teams to do the dirty work while being saddled with questionable depth, poor team defense, and AHL quality goaltending.

I am starting to think that Zach Hyman has infected the Oilers with a slight leafiness. If it had gone to over time it would look like a leafs game almost play for play. They score and play well until the 3rd period and then somehow blow a 4-1 lead. We have done it several times in the regular season and several times in the post season. Even in a game 7!

The real battle in the Western Conference is who can blow the biggest lead. Oilers coming out strong with their most recent offering, let's see what Dallas and Colorado can put together.
Honestly it's a legitimate strategy to go down against Edmonton by a couple so they try (and, often but of course not always, fail) to close a game out by protecting a lead. They're just not deep enough defensively.

For all the haters hatin, I say, look, Edmonton played a solid 11 or 12 minutes of hockey .. Um .. Yeah .. It was the other 48 or 49 that looked like beer league effort .. But nobody can take away those glorious 11 or 12 minutes .. Except Vancouver, I guess ..
Similar to what I said about the Seattle Kraken in their inaugural year: Go watch the Kraken and see some of the best 30-40 minutes of hockey you'll ever see!
Even during those 11 minutes the Oilers weren't carrying the play, they just got lucky bounces.
