I don't care what anyone says Wintersuns debut album is one of the top 10 best metal albums period.
This album is perfect from the beginning to the end. On my top 3 for sure
Wintersun "Time." Its brutal and stunningly beautiful. Im man enough to say that I tear up every single time. Simply perfect.

My favorite song of all time guys. Just brilliance and excellence in music form. Jari is the singer, composer, guitarist and the one who did the arrangements in every song, just a brilliant man. I'm really glad that you liked, but I REALLY recommend the live version at the Sonic Pump Studios, it's even better and you'll see how they're completely beasts live

I dont think Kai is with wintersun they replaced him. Unless hes just very recently returned they've been touring with another guy for the forest seasons...saw them a few months ago

Another Finnish band, we've got plenty of them :D. Wintersun has quite epic songs. Live from Sonic studios (remastered version) is better imo, you can really see them (Jari and Teemu) playing guitars, there's a lot of stuff going on. Since you got that guitar there in the background, you could get some hints how to play it. Check that live video just for fun. Drummer is a beast, Kai Hahto, current Nightwish drummer.
I haven't heard this one before, the metal gods are pleased.

Hell yeah, Wintersun has such an epic and mystical feel. The occasional track can get a little too frenetic and "blast beaty", but most are just amazing. I recommend Death And The Healing, a more subdued song with clean vocals and great sweeping melodies \m/

Excellent. Wintersun are one of my favourite bands. I think they embody 'epic' in every sense of the word. They seriously havent got a bad song. 🤘🏼if you want to hear one of the best guitar solos ever listen to their Winter Madness song, remastered. If you love guitar...also, try to listen to their other Time songs on the live at sonic pump vids. Production blows this away.

EPICA - KINGDOM OF HEAVEN LIVE. You simply have to. Absolutely amazing, their best performance. Nightwish are my favourite but this song is EPIC!
Another finnish band worth listening to is Sonata Arctica. Songs called 'I Have A Right', 'Love', 'Life', just to mention a few. Greets from Finland :)

After that you really should check out their whole album, The Forest Seasons, starting with spring. As much as everyone likes seeing reactions to Lonliness (Winter), I think listening to it chronologically is the best. It's only 4 songs

❤️❤️❤️ We are stopping when we need to, sleeping when we are tired, playing tennis as much as we can, working our jobs, getting the house work every week like usual and exercising in between videos, so far we are moving at a good clip but we are usually like this. We do not have cable and have never really been TV watchers, we like to DO/experience things together so this has been a wonderful addition to our lives.

The official studio version would have given you bit better picture of band in action and how the drummer Kai from Nightwish looses few pints of sweat just by banging the drums - but still, nice reaction 🙂👍. Other goodies you might like too are "Loneliness" and "Forest that weeps".

The songwriter, Jari Mäenpää is actually a completely self-taught musician. He's one of the top guitar players in metal, he's also the singer and the one who plays all the keyboards (apparently there's like 70+ keyboard tracks in this song) and to top it off he's also the guy who records, engineers and mixes the songs. Though, as a result of the entire band being incredible musicians lead by a total perfectionist, it takes ages for them to release anything. Their first album came in 2004, second in 2012 and the latest was released in 2017. D:
A good song to punch you in the emotional gut as it does for me as a disabled army vet, and many others, is the song "Wrong side of heaven" by Five Finger Death Punch - Ther official music video for the sond is the best. I remembered them playing a few times for us overseas at a USO event for free for active servicemembers. If you want a solid group with a good message in all their songs, most of which are a direct payage of homage to the people who serve this great nation, whether it be those warriors are alive, or payed their full dues in death, by giving everything so in conquest and victory, the people that signed a contract up to and including their death in combat, can live on. So the nation can remain free and prosperous paid for without second thoughts or regret, by the ones whos names are carved into the memorials for the fallen. As a huge supporter of their support for vets and active duty members, and putting into a masterpiece message of the casualties of war. Not all casualties are by death from the enemy, but by their own hand after the war when you reflect on what you have done, given, lost. Five Finger Death Punch address' many issuess that are important for public understanding of the poor mental health issues that plagues so many of us. I really hope you give the offical music video for Wrong Side of Heaven a listen, maybe twice or thrice as the info convayed in it will stick with you forever and help see things from a different perspective and pay extra salute to those veterans you see in small town parades from wars past and reach out to support them because the wounds of war may scab over, but the brain never forgets what it saw, what it was commanded to do. Survival is a primal instict, and in war, there are a lot of situations where you have to see, or do certain things that go against all forms of sanity, just to survive. When your world is painted with the blood of yourself, your friends, and hopefully mostly your enemies, Stepping away primal survival and back into civilian life is exceedingly difficult , more so than combat because at least in the theater of war, you are surrounded entirely by people of that lifestyle that can relate. Once you are out, its feels as if its a constant interogation by the VA to get you the help you need, physical and mental. And due to how hard it was for me to talk about things with the VA, the instution there to protect ones like me, do the opposite in a lot of cases. They make the process of getting help so daunting and completely wrapped in this aura of anxiety making it feel like the VA will just find a way to fuck you, so many just dont get the help you need. Its gotten massively better the last 2 years at the vs but it still needs a lot of workd.

Hello, I'm a new subscriber, I really like your feeling during the songs. My first suggestion is Sonata Arctica - White Pearl, Black Ocean (live in Kemi), such a great song.
I've heard a few Wintersun songs. I haven't heard anything weak. I don't listen to this style ( symphonic stuff) really, but it seems quality. I'm more of an Opeth guy...or Gojira ( do Stranded by Gojira first...very accessable).

I think Kai Hahto is the best drummer in the world.
He is also the drummer in nightwish since 2014 when his friend Jukka had to take a break due to his problem with insomnia.
Finland has lot of good metal bands with good drummers and they often have exchanges between the bands, both with music and love.
