Managed to upgrade a slow hdd to a ssd I bought off eBay for 16 quid thanks to this video. Transformed an old laptop’s performance. Thank you for posting such a clear and easy to follow set of instructions. Also great tips for preparing the drives using windows disk management prior to cloning.
So after cloning we should replace the old drive with new drive right? I tried to boot from new drive changing the boot order in bios but it didnt work...
Can anyone help? I have downloaded the aomei backupper standard as seen in the video and have got to the stage at 7:12 in the video. Instead of cloning, I instead get an "exclusive limited time offer" which stops me from continuing - it only allows me to "upgrade now", and not skip. Has anyone got any advice? Thanks!
Standard is definitely still cloning for free so uninstall Aomei and reinstall making sure you only choose the free options and skip or X everything else.

@@sirobb hi i have the program but when i try and reset it to mbr its giving this message, the disk is larger than 2tb and some partitions on the disk cannot be converted, to complete the conversion, you need to make sure that there are at most four partitions on the disk, and the end sector of the last partition is less than 2tb ?
I would recommend cloning to a blank disk which can become whatever you want. You need to understand the limitations of what you're trying to do and why it probably won't work with any program docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/disk-management/change-a-gpt-disk-into-an-mbr-disk

Hi. I need to buck up my C drive, (windows system drive with all drivers and installed programms such as mic office, adobe reader, other utilities, games and etc) to external HDD, in order to restore that HDD in future, in case of windows crash. Which tool in AOMEI do I need to use ? I mean system backup or partition backup or media backup. Thanks in advance my friend

If you're cloning correctly the SSD should run without issue as the laptop thinks the same hard drive has been installed. I would install the original HDD and run the clone again.

Yes. It's a clone.
im not getting an option in disk manager to change my destination disk from giud to mbr any advice
Windows doesn't give that option.
You'll need a program like Aomei Partition Assistant.

You do need to initialise a new disk as shown in the video or Aomei won't progress to the next stage.

this clone all files and programs?
Yes. Clone means an exact copy.

After clone if it doesn’t read the OS any suggestions?
Insert a recovery disk or recovery usb for the relevant OS.
SiRobb doesn’t have recovery and it comes up with black screen _
You have to make a bootable recovery disk or USB then or reinsert the original HDD that was being cloned.
Always try the simple things first

I follow the steps for cloning the hd to ssd and is taking forever.....used this program before and did not take this long......hours.....
Cloning speed is entirely dependent on the amount of data being transferred and the speed of the USB port, lead and drives.
Aomei has no effect.
