I think we can tell by watching the show for so many years that Chris Doumitt deserves that ashtray for the kindness and respect he shows everyone. Good on Parker for showing the same kindness and respect back. There is a true friendship here that goes well beyond a working relationship.
Hes become like a mine father to Parker. That's why. He's always showed him respect and Parker respects that
Parker is quickly becoming the king of the Klondike. Parker has a great crew and he seems to have calmed down a lot and is treating them better than he has in past seasons. He’s made his share of mistakes this season but with every mistake comes knowledge. For Parker to be so knowledgeable about gold mining at such a young age can be attributed to everything he learned from his grandpa and I’m sure he would agree. Parker doesn’t have the experience that Tony Beets has but Tony has been gold mining for about 4 decades.
Hard to the king of the Klondike when your leasing ground from others . Its like being a king but you have to rent your Castle and would he be this successful without the backing of Discovery ?
That ashtray conveys Parker and the teams sense of loyalty.
Parker has such a great group of guys here, hope they stay together.
During the weigh in, parkers looking like, I just dropped $12k ok an ashtray, there better be more
God, I wish Parkers Grandfather was still around to see what he has accomplished
he'd be more impressed with his character growth more so than his business accomplishments
I absolutely love how Parker has grown up. Used to be like a spoilt brat, but now he has people skills and knows how to run a team. You get respect from giving respect ❤️👍
It’s been about a decade since I saw anything from this show. That Parker kid grew up! Glad to see they are making money.
@@jasonetter9171 if he wasnt, he houldnt be involved in a show, making him money about him digging for gold, also making him money
@@regansimpson3196 You clearly don't understand the difference between cost and net. Now get back to your job working for someone else.
@@jasonetter9171 Right, giving away a 12,000$ gift def suggest there poor.
Parkers really growing into his role as big boss
When you got money coming in like that while sitting on millions. It can be worth taking care of your team to make that feel good about working.
@@bunyonfirewood 12k ashtray compared to money they made him is like a 1 drop of water in the ocean
When they turned the o ring around im hoping the part that got left out in editing was "And hope it holds till the replacement I ordered gets here."
I hope Parker knows just how blessed he is having so many loyal and hardworking men!
3:23 you can see the gold on the washing plat ...
Was a long way from Gold digger to play Kylo Ren in the Star Wars Franchise, good Job Parker Adam Parker Driver 👍🏻
A stock of o-ring materials in every diameter they will ever need plus a few cyanoacrylate adhesives would be a helpful addition. Even o'rings that are manufactured like a tire bead can be made by hand if you absolutely need to.
A maintenance department that specializes in minimizing downtime would have a record of every part and stock on wear items. This can develop into a downtime prevention team. Perhaps an improvement that may come later although having your equipment sit out the winter is a tough one.
What's the range of downtime cost per second? With around the clock production... $600,000/7/24/60/60 ≈ 99¢ per second, $59 per minute, $3,571 per hour and 85,714 per day for loss to production due to downtime. A choked bottleneck in production can certainly add up.
I honestly believe that Chris joining up with Parker was the smartest decision he ever made. When he was with Todd Hoffman, he was sinking further into debt. Now, he is making money that Todd will never see.
On top of that, Parker has come such a long way in his career choice. He wanted to be a gold miner like his grandfather, and he did. Now at such a young age, he stands up there as a top earning mining boss. I am glad that he is treating everyone with more respect. Yes he has his moments, but to see how far he's come since he took over the Big Nugget mine his grandfather owned, is amazing.
I see alot of Hoffman Stan's claiming Todds son Hunter has alot of success ahead of him and will be far more successful then Parker despite Hunter showing zero evidence of that promise. It seems that Parker still lives rent free in not just the Hoffmans head but the heads of their stans . First it was I'm going to beat that kid now its my kid is going to beat that other kid who is now a full grown man ..
@@adamwatson6916 and that's ridiculous. They are trying to be miners when they aren’t. Hunter could have potential if he joined up with Parker for a couple of seasons, however I don’t see that happening.
Awl Parker does have a heart. Nice gift.
Crazy when the show first started , nobody knew what the fuck they were doing so it made the show more fun. Now it’s like a informative show now
Wow, we are getting to meet Grandpa as Parker evolves. Good on ya Parker!
I didn’t expect that from Parker with respect to the birthday gift. That is one expensive ash tray and gift. Receiving a $12,000 birthday present says a lot about Parker’s character. Never saw that coming or expect him to be so generous. Much love and respect to Parker for that gift. He’s on the right path…he’s come a long way in maturity since working his grandfather’s mine❤️🙏👍🙂
12k to Parker is like you giving your child $2 for their chores. Its relative, he could make them all millionaires and still be a multi millionaire with a couple hundred million dollar gold lease.
Think of this like a golden carrot for the slave class and its more accurate.
@@11kungfu11 u can never get enough generosity can you? No one can be generous enough for you
@@11kungfu11 Dont forget that there is alot less profit then you would think, manpower, machines, repair, oil, gasoline to run it all, it takes a huge bite out of the earnings.
@@Sarge80 more profits than you know. A $12k bonus, is no joke to the workers, who make $140k in the 6 months of mining. But to the big boss, that's hardly anything.
It costs $770-$12,000 all in, to produce one single ounce of gold. Parker runs way down at the lower end of costs. The price of an ounce of gold, $1845.43 per ounce. Even shit mines are making around $600 profit per ounce, and well run mines like Parkers, make a lot more profit. He is worth about $10 million, just from his short 11 year mining career, and owns his own mining property.
Plus, each person on Gold Rush, make $10k-$25k per episode, Parker being one of the higher paid people. So he gifted half of an episode, worth of the shows money. Not really even affecting his mining profits. Besides companies can basically use employee bonuses, instead of putting the money towards the taxes they need to pay.
Finally it's considered $12k worth of gold on the market. It's not how much it actually cost Parker, to get that amount of gold. So really he's giving around, a $6k-$7k bonus. Something I've gotten on construction sites, for finishing well under the scheduled time, aka being more productive than expected. Just like these guys do for Parker, despite his high demands.
@@hiteshadhikari Parker has become a multimillionaire, worth $10 million, while his crew get $140k a year.
It's like you boss, having $10,000, only needing $3000 for operation expenses, and paying you $140 for a days work, then giving you a bonus of $12(or he bought you lunch).
I love this show I've watched it it from day one.
What's with the school bus lmfao
You really have to trust and depend on the guy you have clean and weigh your gold, the ashtray is well deserved...and awesome for a cigar smoker. Well done all around!
The ash tray you have to lock up every time you’re done with a ciggy
Parker’s the best boss!!
Keep up the good work Parker you’re Grandpa will be proud of you 👍.
Looks a lot like our contraption of a pump 🤣
Parker looks like he’ll never be satisfied with any clean out
good to see the boys are doing their prestart checks
I am so glad he said socks and not jocks there ....
Wow that’s awesome that present! that shows dedication to his workers
amazing that thermos contained 20 lbs of gold...
a golden ashtray . .
600K !! 🤑🤑
Awesome!
Nice bday gift.. I myself got jack and shit for working 20 years for the same company...
Fuel costs.
$599000.
Once they are done mining, do they have to restore the land to how it was before? I remember hearing that some mines now have to pay up front for restoration costs after they cease operations- is that true for gold mining too?
I want to do this so bad. I got years and years of experience running different equipment and was a heavy equipment mechanic for 8 years. A friend of mine up in AK saw I was getting into gold panning. said we should buy a claim and get diggin. I said hell yeah. We'll see if it actually ends up happening though hahaha.
Didn't know Chef John was a narrator
That'll just about cover a couple of weeks...or a month cost in fuel, wear and tear and equipment payments?!?
Parker!
new screen but no o ring for the most crucial component sure
How much after expenses?
He has an awesome crew but I think the only way to make his crew even more awesome is if Rick Ness and Brandon were still there those guys were good too and he would have the strongest team in the Klondike
I'm so astounded that gold rush is narrated in an English accent foe the UK. 😂
My question for this is what about bigger gold nuggets that can’t make it through the screen, do they just get dumped with the rest of the rocks.
Has he started Tony cut yet
Does anyone know whether the crew gets paid bonuses/percentage?
show makes it look like it'S tied to the goal. what ever goes above the goal is payed out partialy as Bonus.in reality it might be more liek the breakeven point plus next year budget. a few seasons back one team had glasses with 40 Onces per dude as bonus. if parker sets a goal at 6000 and they bring in 7200 i think everyone could get 50 onces as bonus, might also depend on how long you are part of the team, just driver or foreman etc.
Just crazy to think that this stuff is just sitting there in the ground in our world for years and is worth this crazy amount of money
Where is this?
So did you order a new O ring after flipping the damaged one. Remember Spaceship Columbia and O rings.
Sean 36$000 mate
so dramatic..yall dont have 20 O rings on the shelf??
I HAVE TO SAY THAY WAS A VERY COOL BIRTHDAY GIFT FROM PARKER. REALLY WAS , WHAT WAS EVEN BETTER IS HE SAID WAS FROM THEM ALL, THAT IS THE OLD PARKER. THE KID I REALLY LIKED YEARS AGO ,WHEN HIS GRANDPA WAS STILL AROUND, NOT YELLING, JUST SEEING BETTER SORRY CAPPS, GOD BLESS ALL BE SAFE.
Reschedule inventory mate
Surely they have spare parts for all these machines? All the millions of gold over the years and there is stress over needing a $5 o-ring ….they should have spares for all things like this that need regular changing or could stop work , then cause travel hours each way to a machine store for a replacement worth a few bucks !
Well,,,,they beat the equip to death,,always a bush fix .do they ever fix anything the right way??
yes,but it'S rarley filmed. 3 days later he probably fixed the O-ring,when the plant was down for cleanout anyway. just not worth filming. Parker for instance mentioned to Fred Lewis,he has used up screens worth 100k this year (both washplants). but you see them switch screens just once or twice, the rest is of cam.
I used to be a dedicated gold rush watcher. But halfway through it was eh.. flipping channels
Kylo Ren is a miner now?

Did he ever get land in Australia
I think he did...worse move his ever made in his life....he just don't realise...what he's put himself into...these peoples land he's mining on gaining his fortunes...I can tell you now...they point there bone at Parker...all the greed money an gold won't mean a thing to his health his life..
