Always loved Joanna . PATSY always killed us off. My grandson wanted to marry PATSY at the age of 8.yrs. I follow Joanna. Down the Nile. THE SILK road. And everywhere she goes. She is just Fabulous .💞💞💞
Such a wonderful and compassionate woman who'd happily see you save the planet with us plebs using wartime style ration points, whilst she eats the finest portions of food in her opulent home.
What a fascinating hour. Everyone out, a large glass of red wine, a Tunnoch's caramel wafer and an endearing hour on Joanna's career. Brilliant. _But, I can't believe its 27 years since 'Girl Friday'. Scary!_
It’s so lovely to see Joanna speak so highly of Julia Sawalha (Saffy). Not just because it’s amusing to see Patsy gush about Saffy 🤣 but I always felt she never got enough praise for her performance. She is truly so different to Saff irl so it’s quite the transformation. Even her physicality in terms of the ‘Saffy walk’ and the ‘Saffy run’, and how Saffy holds herself when she’s staring down Patsy or judging Eddy. The best scenes in the show for me (outside of every Patsy and Eddy scene in “Poor”) are the Saffy/Patsy scenes. My biggest criticism of the show post the original run was that they didn’t include the few scenes here and there where Saffy and Patsy seem to have authentic moments when no one else is around. IE S1 and S3 there’s the scenes where Patsy comes knocking on Saffy’s bedroom door for help. The scene is S3 when Saffy gives Patsy a breast check is possibly my favourite scene of the whole show. It kind of just made the show that much richer because it proved outside of their competition for Eddy’s loyalty, they actually had potential for a connection. Both actresses played it so well too.
Can’t wait to see this in October in Liverpool! She is so entertaining and funny! The Bra Shoes!! Amazing... Hurry up October at the Liverpool Philarmonic! It’s sold out which is testament to her pull as an amazing performer and actress! Absolutely Fabulous forever x
Yes Jane ! What a show I was entertained from the start! Great storytelling... funny, witty and candid accounts of all her early years as a model and then on to the acting! Her Elaine Perkins character from Corrie moments were fantastic! All the insights about Patsy, my favourite, were so interesting....never have I been to a show that kept me enthralled from start to finish! Dame Joanna I think it’s about bloody time! Absolutely Fabulous x
I think she’s incredibly talented lady and her insight into the play of the week which we had in the 70’s in the uk would be and should be the pinnacle of bbc tv, a beacon of arts and less reality tv. It’s a shame that you have to sign up for ntathome but glad it’s there, yet it feels wrong that programming doesn’t feature plays which are the main source of tourism in London and bring in a massive revenue stream.
I love Joanna (who doesn’t?) but I can’t watch these lectures on TV where they do not have permission or ability to show the projected photos or videos. It makes it unwatchable to me for some reason or another. Sorry. I have to give this a miss.
I really have to wonder where they get these festival audiences-- honest to god I want to scream WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE?? WAKE UP!!! Most of them are so bloody lifeless... are they forced to be there? Just watched the Hay Festival with Jennifer Saunders and apart from a handful of people, they all just sat there and had to be TOLD when tp applaud! These are comedy LEGENDS people for Christ's sake!
I love how expressive she is and how she is talking to the audience she draws them in and I love that. Wonderful woman amazing actress!
Now, she is just another who's sold her soul to the super wealthy.
27:55 her Roseanne impression is pretty good!
She's beyond a national treasure at this point. She's a goddess.

Joanne is unique one of a kind. She is very beautiful in and out she is a character. Lovely lady so smart.

Her enthusiasm is infectious, truly a charming woman, the sort of person who sees wonder's everyday as a child, just lovely

She has lived such a fascinating life. One only wishes to live a fraction of it all. Love her to bits!

Joanna is gorgeous inside and out! But really wish they had gotten permission to show the clips that really would have made this video even better! 😉

I know this video is a year old, but I hope those of us in America who are fans of Joanna Lumley get a chance to see these documentaries.

Jumped from avengers to absolutely fabulous..sapphire and steel?
"The Satanic Rites of Dracula" (1973) Joanna Lumley as Jessica Van Helsing and if I remember correctly Joanna was a redhead in that movie!
