It's bittersweet, but I think it fits perfectly. To me, TLOU (both parts) are really at their core about recognising and being grateful for the brief, memorable moments of beauty and meaning (aka Ecstasy) in an otherwise bleak, brutal and meaningless world.
Now we know why Dina said to Ellie: "they should be terrified of you"
Almost 7 months after finishing the game and I'm still thinking about it every day and crying about how beautiful and tragic the story is...
I am not sure if anyone's ready for what the game is going to do with our emotions.

Same here. I knew nothing about the Game and the music. The only Trailer I saw was „im gonna kill every one Last of them“ one. After finishing the game I can‘t stop listening to this scene and the „true faith“ Trailer. Truely a Masterpiece this game.

Is it weird that listening to this can make me weep? I've never played the game as I despise Playstation, but I used to play the cello very well in school and I know how to appreciate good notes. This "simple" tune drops me every time.

They look so happy... ... ... ... they've got no idea of the horrors that await Ellie and Joel in the sequel. And most importantly, how long can Joel's lie about the Fireflies no longer looking for a cure last?
I think the subtext is that Ellie already knows he was lying as far back as the end of the first game, but she realises how much pain losing one daughter brought him, and she doesn't want to put him through that.
Thats how I see it anyway, I guess we'll see when it comes out next year
It was also implied in "One Night Live" that Ellie knew not long after the end of the game. You won't find a recording, believe me I've looked, but the script is out there, and it's a tad illuminating.
It did last a bit. Ellie und Joel had time together but yet again the past - Joel's actions - caught them and almost destroyed their relationship. And the game is all about revenge and forgiveness. Ellie didn't want to kill Abby because she killed Joel (after their fight in the theatre). She wanted to kill her because Abby took Ellie's opportunity to forgive Joel.
Also, it is very interesting that this "shed" in which Ellie lives is nonetheless in Joel's backyard. They broke our hearts with this masterpiece.
This piece of music really pulls on my heartstrings... Especially after completing the game.. Really it made me want to cry so much. It made me remember the first time I watched the E3 trailer before the game came out and was waiting so long and dying for the game to release. And now that its out, I want to erase all my memories I have of this game and play it again like my first time.
Seriously i never shouldve listened to the haters about not playing the game just because things didn't go the way they want it to. While they can only hate and spread negativity about the game, there are a lot of others who knows how to appreciate the little things and love the game despite the flaws..
I'm happy to say this game is a huge part of my life now. I'll never forget the the first time I got the game, first time I played it, and the first time I finished it. It was an incredible memory. Thank You Naughty Dog for creating this incredible masterpiece. I will forever cherish this game. It was an incredible rollercoaster of emotions. I didn't want to feel this way but I'm kinda glad that I did. You really made me a die hard fan! Looking forward to their upcoming projects.
Same feelings with TloU 1 I played it a few years ago and still my favorite game it's almost perfect the history, caracteres,music,map design ... A lot of memories from the past because this game is very important to me

Ellie & Dina sharing a warm, intimately happy moment together & people dancing mirrored with Ellie all alone in a dark rainy forest navigating harsh survival & people trying to kill her. This was something that hit hard with me in the FUCKING GAMEPLAY TRAILER. Wasn't even the full game yet. It reminded me of moments I've shared with loved ones mirrored with unforgiving times alone. This song brings me back to those warm times.

Finished the game twice in the first week after the release and have about 90 hours of playthrough and also got it platinum,now i just want to say i definitely agree with you ,the game is a great masterpiece,it's the best exclusive game for this generation,it's the best naughty dog's game ever made,it's as amazing as the first part,i'm gonna play them even more and more in future,and of course FUCK those haters who couldn't ever see a great game like this,they must play those shitty battle royals 'cause they won't ever understand such game like "The Last of Us"

The game had the same naughty dog quality we would expect which is great but I think most people and atleast for me personally had an issue with the fact that you never actually got your revenge. Then after Joel dies it makes us play As the person that killed him. That was rough. But if I put that fact aside playing abbys story was fun. Also it would have been nice to let players choose their ending. Kill Abby or not.

I am a bit confused by the accompanying picture. Now i just learned about some famous actress who, a few years ago,in fact married another woman, (its legal now) who may or may not be an actress. From there the confirmed actress woman became a man, through some kind of surgery.. (POSSIBLY where the million dollars allocated to the Pakistan gender studies, from the corona relief package??) fro there the marriage is still valid, but apparently one of the people is now considered, legally at least to be a man, and the other is still a woman. Though still legally married, I have heard that the couple have divorced ; no longer legally joined... my question is, Are these two people in this picture we are all looking at, those same 2 people ?

It's sad cause the game was a masterpiece until they ruined it and gave us 10 hours of Abby. So much lost potential because of a attempt of making us like her after she killed a beloved character of almost a whole decade now
