    This timepiece was recently launched during the last SIHH and if I go behind the many comments made to me recently by collectors and watch aficionados, well I can clearly say that it sets some kind of milestone in the development of Hermès as a very serious watchmaker. Something we didn't really doubt about with some very interesting timepieces introduced since several years.
    Beyond its nice aesthetics and the "nice story" this watch tells, there is a rather very impressive technical development behind and this is the very reason why we went to visit the team of Chronode to discover what it clearly entails and see how they worked with the team of Hermès.
    Enjoy & Viva Watchmaking

    Magnifique! All cred to Hermes for being creative and doing it properly. Thank you for highlighting the fact that not all "haute couture" brands are equal.

    There is not a better place to show this product than the Canary Islands. I’m thrilled that Hermes chose Tenerife, where I was born, to do it. Very soon I will be there assembling watches, luckily for people around the world.

    This kind of watch gives the impression of delicate design. How do they keep the entire thing robust so as to absorb shocks from day to day activities on the wrist and even accidental drops?

    Why don't they make the moon move instead of the watch dials?

    • @user-zl2sc3bg3g
      @user-zl2sc3bg3g  3 роки тому

      They wanted to do a totally different approach than what we are used to with moon phases. Best to you

  • @watchnerds

    So... Marc, do they still connect the gearing to adjust the date together with the moonphase like my question of this particular movement/watch in the past of your video? Cz if it does so (as I seen in the other hands-on videos) the date setting by the user would affect the moonphase setting, in which if the user already set the correct moonphase but needs to adjust the date like in every the first of the month (cz this is not a perpetual calendar of sorts), the user would eventually need to adjust the moonphase in a complete rotation to put it back the phase of the moon in its place as moonphase is the kind of complication that only be set up once and leave it be, right?

    I guess it costs as much as a trip to the Moon...with SpaceX , eventually.

      Yes, eventually, which would be cool because I would then go myself!!!

    J'aime beaucoup cette montre et suis très tenté ... Mais est-ce que les aiguilles sont peintes en bleu ? Elles n'ont pas l'air traitées à la chaleur.

    • @user-zl2sc3bg3g
      @user-zl2sc3bg3g  5 років тому

      Je pense qu’elles ne sont pas bleuies a la flamme. Merci pour le commentaire et faites vous plaisir 😉 du moins on vous le souhaite!

      @@user-zl2sc3bg3g les peintures s'estompent souvent avec le temps et c'est quelque chose d'un peu irritant parce que la restoration est souvent très mal vue par les collectionneurs et j'aime bien que mes montres soient le plus impeccable possible le plus longtemps possible... J'ai en fait ce problème ces jours ci car j'ai apporté 4 montres pour révisions cette semaine et j'ai un vieux chrono des années 70 (typique Valjoux 7734 de l'époque) avec des aiguilles oranges décolorées que j'hésite à faire repeindre en orange ... ou pas ! La couleur orange c'est quand même tellement emblématique de cette époque.
      Au prix des Hermès, ils auraient pu le faire à la flamme et prendre exemple sur la montre Star Trek.

    Beautiful watch, Hermés did an excellent job.
    Although, I would rather see them to concentrate on their regular offerings, as they kinda lacking to be honest. They are making quality pieces no doubt, but at their price point there are many more established brands with the same quality to choose from. Hermés needs something to stand out from the crowd.
    Just my two cents, feel free to disagree.

    • @user-zl2sc3bg3g
      @user-zl2sc3bg3g  5 років тому +1

      Thanks for sharing your point of view, but am pretty sure that a « more established brand » would have priced this watch quite higher actually. Best to you

    • @kalamoj
      @kalamoj 5 років тому

      Agree, I would even call the pricing of this watch agressive.
      I rather meant the regular/ non-limited pieces like the cape cod for example.

    Hermes are much more serious than some brands with their history/vintage BS

  • @christianbarnay2499
    @christianbarnay2499 5 років тому

    The concept is not new and has already been implemented in the past by others. This all is just basic planetary gears. The only challenging part was the usual watch trade off: make it thin and light but keep it solid enough to last for at least a couple of years.

    Hermes is not really a watchmaker. They make ties and woman handbags. This is not really a watch maker

    • @user-zl2sc3bg3g
      @user-zl2sc3bg3g  5 років тому +1

      That's not all what they do, I get that it's a luxury group/brand, but they are very serious whatever they do, whether it's their historical craft of making horse saddles, but all the rest too; from clothes, porcelain, crystals to furniture, it goes way beyond handbags ;) all the super best to you
