yes but as has been shown, its not easy to compete with twitch. UA-cam has potential but it still feels wrong and facebooks whole site is just ugly and the UI is hideous. In terms of comfort and ease of access, twitch is hard to beat.

Any reason to get hyped over kick will no longer exist in six months or less. 90% of sub money goes to the streamer? As soon as they get any fraction of traction on the platform and real amount of subs coming in they'll rework that into something similar or worse than twitch. No "TOS"? Until one person with a decent sized audience streams the wrong thing and then the entire platform trying to get off the ground get's sued for being a basis of illegal streaming. Any "hype" for kick is only hype if you're incapable of thinking past step one.

I'm against people thinking hatespeech should be censored, but this idea is just childish. You can have a definition of hateful speech called hatespeech while still allowing for it to be protected under the umbrella of free speech.
Companies can also allow all forms of speech (other than those not protected by the 1st amendment if they're not wanting to get the shit sued out of them) on their platforms, but as youtube, twitter, reddit, facebook, twitch, etc have all figured out, advertisers tend to not approve of speech like that, which means these site's revenue drops.
If Kick is willing to allow language of any form of protected speech on their website, regardless of what advertisers think, then good on them.

I like that Sum is playing the other side of the argument but he seems to be brown nosing Twitch a little too much here. Why should streamers prioritize their loyalty to Twitch over their own self-interest? And why is it such a bad thing for streamers to advocate for a better TOS?
freedom of speech doesn’t mean freedom from consequences especially on a platform that appeals to advertisers. If they didn’t it would cultivate nasty humans that’ll make it not welcoming to new users.
