Its a fucking crime that the 360 Version didn't get Backwards Compat support so i could continue playing this classic WITHOUT having to shell out $20 for a remaster port of an older game that i got for $5 AND RESTART everything from the fucking beginning. One of the few games i keep an Xbox 360 plugged up for.
Imagine being such a good undercover cop that you can straight-up wear a police uniform in front of all your gang member buddies and never get caught. Wei Shen is the Chinese James Bond.
My mother's side are from Hong Kong, so when we were playing on the TV via PlayStation, my grandmother would see me driving around Hong Kong and try to tell me something about her past there. She'd even laugh when the drivers would swear in Cantonese for any car crashes. I still have fond memories of this game and looking forward to finding time to replay one more time.

This game has so many details if you spend time to notice them - If you hijack a taxi, random people on the street will try to stop you but wei will say "Am I look like a taxi driver to you?!" and then they start screaming xD - so many mant funny npc dialogs in SD world, just listen to them especially convo from your apartement neighbors - meta jokes, when you visit hospital nurses conversation stating that there are so many car crash lately, like something happened (yeah you, just came back to hongkong) - wei and even npc can get out from front car window, if both sides of the car blocked - I like that when start raining some npcs will open their umbrella and some of them who don't bring umbrella start running covering their head with bag or hand - npcs react differently depends on your face level. - just drive a fancy car, surrounding people will start looking at it - Porkbun is a men food
[Spoilers] If you go to the Golden Koi late in the game, after Civil Discord (which is very unlikely since there's no pratical purpose in going there), you'll find Mrs. Chu with her hands on her head in a despair pose, because her son is dead, a war and a civil war are going on and everything is turning for the worst
Idk if this is factual, but it's happened to me once. Maybe I could try to make it happen again. I've killed a bunch of civilians in the game, and an old lady in the distance had a heart attack and died from seeing it. Seriously
It was like AC: Unity when it first released but many years later people realised what a gem it actually is. Aside from AC, Sleeping Dogs is the only other game I've seen utilise that Arkham style counter combat and use of environment in an open world game. 🔥

This game had a unique aspect most open world games lack IMO. It's the city atmosphere Hong Kong itself was very captivating for me. I never felt that since Vice city.
Bought it for 9 dollars from a retail store. One of the best video game purchases I've ever made. Spend such little money for a game that was definitely worth more.

I recently replayed the game and I forgot how gorgeous the city is, so much details and the gameplay uhhh amazing, from the story the voice acting to combat. What an amazing game.
The open world is also super interactive as well and the animations in this game are just so well done I’m on my first play through and I’m absolutely loving it! Lol

My favorite part was when I talked to all my Asian friends before the game was released about how Asians aren't in anything. When they told me that, I said I was getting Sleeping Dogs, and they said they were saving their money for Gran Turismo. I told them if they didn't buy the game they were responsible for the lack of Asians in American media. - I played it, told everybody I thought it was better than GTA V, they still didn't buy it. Literally. The the company that made the game went under, and Sleeping Dogs is now hailed as an underrated masterpiece. There's no glory in being right when no one listens till it's too late.

Why did this game didn't get recogonized as the GTA Series, this game is a masterpiece, the location, atmosphere, action combat styles, story everything is just outstanding.
This game was released on same year as gta 5 . A big budget ip with tons of fan versus a new ip with low budget and heavily similar to gta series.... You know whom would be killed 😣🤐. This game is the whole meaning of "at the wrong place at wrong time"

I recently replayed the game and I forgot how gorgeous the city is, so much details and the gameplay uhhh amazing, from the story the voice acting to combat. What an amazing game.
The open world is also super interactive as well and the animations in this game are just so well done

When they told me that, I said I was getting Sleeping Dogs, and they said they were saving their money for Gran Turismo. Literally. The the company that made the game went under, and Sleeping Dogs is now hailed as an underrated masterpiece.
