please keep this video on for as along as possible...one of the most brilliant touching things I've ever seen...a man's legacy, his love of life, his passion for the sport, his wife...i've watched it probably half a dozen times...it puts everything into perspective....my heart grates for his family, his fellow surfers, and especially his wife and their unborn child. What an absolutel treasure this tribute is..bless whoever put this together xx and deep blessings this family

Andy i know my aunties husbands sister was married to you and i feel like you were a brother to me even tho we never go to meet but you sent me and my brother signed pictures thanks man we will keep them forever because you and your brother are the best in our minds i hope you rest in peace and surf the 50 foot clouds up there in the ocean we call heaven much love bradda!!

Andy gave surfing a storyline which is why I liked him but to be honest... him and all his friends (the so-called Wolf Pack) were a bunch of a-holes. They divided the surf community rather than bring it together. Today's generation of surfers like John John, Eli and more are much more respectable because they want everyone to experience Hawaii and the amazing waves it provides. It's not so territorial anymore which is a good thing.
I agree with you although the territorial thing has nothing to do with one's attitude or character. It is more of the feeling that comes when the green fields you once ran with your children and dog became a factory land or full of 5 star Hotels.. Honestly I would become territorial as well. It is not necessarily a good thing when something becomes socially available to everyone (nothing racist here) , especially when we all know it happens only for the money and for nothing else...
