    I still remember back in the day when Rock was heel and fans chanting "die rocky die".
    Like genuine hatred.
    Haven't watched wrestling in years but for some reason I stumbled upon WrestleMania 40 and realized how Rock is center stage.
    And also catching up with Vince gone and the chaos surrounding that seems like Rock will be extra heel extra power.
    With Cody being extra baby face.
    Maybe a stone cold vs vince 2.0?
    I have no clue!

      You don't remember that because that never happened. Die Rocky Die was when he was a face.

    Rock single handedly bridge the gap between WWE and Hollywood as we can see that more wrestlers followed and goes Hollywood, this netflix deal wont happen if not because of The Rock's success.. Rock as a board director TKO who knows the WWE bussiness very well and also HHH who also knows the business very well is just a perfect fit for this new era of sports entertainment, and as a wrestling fan i'm excited what these 2 gonna cook together in the future..

    I believe it was always the Plan to have the Rock to turn heel. Getting tons of fans to get behind the next Baby Face champ in a fake organic movement is a genius move. All of a sudden, you have the biggest hype train since Daniel Bryan. With the creation of TKO, They needed a great first Wrestle Mania, so the rematch with Cody needed something extra to gain maximum fan interest. Roman's time was obviously ending with fan interest being exhausted with the Bloodline shenanigans and a very part-time Roman. There was also very little animosity between Rock and Roman, probably so they could align more easily. The Rock is more entertaining as a heel, its what got him OVER in the first place.

    • @pmac206
      @pmac206 7 місяців тому +9

      I kind of think that too. To me everything is a work. As much as I want to see the Rock vs Roman . It sounds pretty strange to me that they were just going to do the match just like that with almost no build or story . They needed a catalyst to turn Rock heel which was Cody Rhodes. Now they have multiple big money matches they can do with the Rock , that’s no coincidence they know exactly what they’re doing but either way I’m glad it worked out this way.

I haven't trusted Dwayne since the Hobbs and Shaw movie where he made his people out to be (fictional) criminals when, as a lead and star he could have easily had the script written where with a simple couple lines they could have been a positive islander family from the start. I lost all respect for him after that. He is basically a 'snake' who sheds it's skin when necessary. This whole carrying WWE on his shoulders thing is a farce just to get himself over again when all his movies recently have been failures. Black Adam showed what sort of person he is if you listen to what Henry Cavill said regards to getting pushed out of WB. Its all Rock or nothing. Same thing with Fast franchise. Can't stand him. What he did for Brock Lesnar when he was beginning is career epitomizes how much he understands that the more performers you have the top, the better the product is because the product never gets stale. He's never forgotten where he came from and his love of wrestling is exactly what the industry needed. Nick Khan basically signed CM Punk before even telling Triple H. Pay attention my friend.

      Triple H has been playing politics for 20 years suriving vince mcmahon. Lets give him a little credit, but he will always defer to the rock and his childhood friend, the president of wwe..nick khan.

    Rock's getting as full of himself as Vince was. Cant stand him anymore. Used to be one of my favorites.

    I wonder why people take the character and think it's real? You may have people to come out and say he has an attitude or some attitude issues or whatever, but everybody has something with them, especially when has as much going on as he does. People are mad because he is making business moves??? What kind of nonsense is that??? So now he can't he be as prosperous as the other billionaires 🤔

      This is more about analyzing the current backstage dynamics and not grading someone’s business intelligence.

      If it wasn't for rock wwe wouldn't be as popular as it became he bridged the gap between Hollywood and WWE and brought more eyes to the product.

    I love how oblivious HBK is to Rock's obvious ire and what he did to him when he was on the nod back in the day, shit HBK will never remember but Rock clearly does. It must hurt for Dwayne knowing it doesn't live for a second in Shawn's mind and Dwayne still obviously resents him for every second of it despite it likely stoking a lot of the fire in him that made him the Rock. HBK is my favorite all time but '1996 HBK' was a mythical wrestler, the old shoot interviews about EVERYONE hating him only enhance that hahaha
