LOVED THIS VIDEO! I just got my first internship as a Cloud Engineer as a self taught python student and it's been really overwhelming to take in so many concepts all at once. You have made me understand things I have been struggling to understand for weeks now! I really appreciate you for putting your knowledge out there for us!
Great video!!! Thank you so much! I just passed my AWS Cloud Practitioner exam! I'm self studying for AWS Architect. I'm hoping to get an entry level job soon. I will def read the Phoenix Project!
Hello, I know basic coding and doing self study on those as well. But you don't need those to pass the Cloud practitioner. I used Cloud Guru practice exam and you tube for resources. I'm hoping I can start in AWS field soon. Good luck!
This is excellent. As a technical recruiter, I am diving into the AWS cloud to start my IT journey. I appreciate the quick and concise video. Best of luck to you!
Hey thank you for this video. I’m finishing up my Google IT professional certificate, and I’m thinking about going into cloud engineering after a few years of experience in the field. Your video helped a lot🙏🏿💯
Awesome - thank you so much! I'm now starting my journey to cloud after some 17 years as an AD administrator. Jumping into the AZ900 first and then the AZ104 etc. Your channel has helped so much!!!
This was really informative and very helpful. You helped me put together a bit of a roadmap to supplement my degree program through WGU. Thank you so much!
Am a beginner in cloud technology and this video of yours really gives me an insight into the field, thank you for this and keep making such informative content!❤️👍
This is a great video! I am GCP certified as of this year and I am struggling to nail the right job just to get my foot in the door as a junior engineer, but I'm keeping my head up (COVID has been a huge limiting factor in the job market). I love your advice and recommendations, subbed!
I started to learn about cloud computing but by trying a lot without real purpose, your video put my ideas back in place and helps me focus on the essentials. Thank you Gweyneth!
I have being searching UA-cam all day to get enlighten on cloud engineering until I got here, the video is amazing. I am front end developer trying to go into cloud engineering
This was so clear and helpful, thankyou! I'm going to be starting training in AWS soon and this gave me some ideas for pre-reading - The Phoenix Project is one to check out for sure :)
I have to join with others in the comments. This video has given some sort of roadmap or an idea for a roadmap on how to start in cloud engineering. The options were too much at one point. Thank You!
I am so glad to have come across your channel! Keep it up! I started as: help desk > jr. sysadmin > sysadmin > and now I am a CloudOps Admin ( time in tech: 4 years with no college degree )
Hey Gwyneth, This video is really awesome....I want to make my career in cloud and I completed AWS PRACTITIONERS Certificate in linux Academy, Thankyou for sharing your knowledge with us.
After watching this video roughly a month ago, I bought The Phoenix Project and only read a few pages. Just a few days ago I had such an important interview where the hiring manager mentioned this book and I think you could hear my heart drop from a mile away... oh well!
Good info. Really want to go the AWS Dev Ops rout but I am trying to get CCNP Encor and CCNP Automation done. I am familiar with Linux Academhy. I think they merged with cloudguru. Cant wait to start with AWS. Working as Network Admin right now but want to make a change. Good luck and thanks again for sharing.
Hey, first off great video! I have a question for you, if someone had no college degree and no experience in IT, will joining linux academy be a good move? Or should I get comptia certs first?
Hey there, thanks for watching, depends, what is your goal? Certifications like AZ900 and AWS Certified Cloud practitioner are great for beginners, and there's good free content on those, google freecodecamp andrew brown, he has great free content!
This is what I am wondering as well. Will anyone actually hire me without any experience to be a cloud engineer or do I have to work as a sys admin, etc. to get my foot in the door?
I've just passed az-900, studying towards az-104 now... Then.. az-400 to hopefully certify as DevOps expert. Both the 104 & 400 look tricky, SO much detail to learn & remember, I've done practice questions, some were heavy! So I'm slightly nervous as to whether I'll get my head around it all and pass.
Thank you for the awesome and super helpful video. Are there any groups that you'd recommend to connect with people like yourself, to get advice and potentially mentorship? Thanks again!
Hi, I want to start my career in cloud computing Can you please help me which one is best and has more growth options 1- Cloud engineer 2- Cloud architect 3- DevOps engineer If you have any other suggestions, feel free to post.
Hey Gwyneth, thank you for the very informative video. This does indeed give me some confidence of thinking about a career change into IT and cloud computing. Would you suggest a person with basic programming skills in Python and C++, a non-IT background (mechanical engineering), who is willing to do online certification courses in Devops and AWS, to pursue a career change into a new path as a Cloud Engineer? Is it worth investing the time and taking the risk to start from bottom in a new field ? Would really appreciate your suggestions :) ! Thank you and warm Regards! Ashish
Awesome Awesome Awesome informational video! You have unlocked a lot of things about how to get started with Cloud! I've been so confused at this point on where to get started and now I know. I'm currently studying for my CCNA and when I get that I'll start my journey into the cloud! Thanks a Lot GPS! You're the best! Peace & Blessings!!! And P.S.> I hope I can win your cloud cert giveaway!!! That is so generous and awesome!
According to you which is good to choose either web development or cloud computing at a good package ,easy to get job at entry level ,I have interest on the both at same level.

Is their any relationship between networking Engineering and cloud Engineering. Becoming a cloud Engineer does it have any benefits when moving into cloud.
If you're a network engineer, you definitely have an advantage when you move into cloud, over people who don't have that experience. Understanding the fundamentals of networking is very important in Cloud computing. Some of it is already handled by the cloud platform, but still very important to know.
So Im really debating on jumping into this. My background is Mechanical Engineer and I attempted to take Software Engineering courses for a Masters and discovered I did not like it as much as I thought I would. How heavy is the programming? I can't seem to find anything on this when I look into Cloud Computing.
i want to become a cloud engineer, i recently graduated with a software development and network engineering diploma and want to focus on cloud technology more. I am recently hired as an IT analyst and my company uses Azure, so i am currently planning to give AZ 104 admin exam by the end of Feb and since I have development knowledge from my college, m planning to give az 204 developer certification as well after it. After that, I am planning to give RHCSA, and then giving Azure DevOps. P.S : I already have CCNA and Security+. Is that the right path to follow?
I agree! My brother has tried to explain some of the stuff he does and I used to get cloud-eyed when some of these terms like "kubernetes" or "terraform" were thrown out. But, you did a really good job of explaining the terms in their proper context! Thank you.
Initially I wanted to be a Web developer, was practicing coding via udemy academy and was enjoying it then found coding more challenging the more I went on then thought there no way. I recently came across the option of cloud engineer and am exploring this now. Not sure which one to chose to self study Azure or AWS? But at present I'm taking the Azure route. I would like to know if it is worth doing if I find coding challenging 🤔

What's a better combo CCNA W/ CCNP Or CEH W/CySA+ Or CySA W/ Splunk? The goal is to become a Cloud Engineer?
Do you have to get any of those? They seem a little over kill to get started. For cloud an associate and professional cloud cert is what I recommend.
Thanks for the tips....
