I've had a convertible 2003 xk8 for 7 years , I love her, each time I drive her she makes me grin from ear to ear, each time I look at her she makes me smile and think ' is she really mine?'
I disagree on the facts you mention about the things you HATE about te Jaguar XK8. I totally AGREE, on the facts you mention about the things you LOVE about the Jaguar XK8....Why? It's the best anti depressance on 4 wheels there is. No side effects, just a bloody smile on your (my) 62 year old face! I work for over 35 years in Dutch healtcare, wich is now on a dead end road due a "market working system" Wich f*cked up most of the value's I have worked for all those years. Now I am in a burnout, wich gave sighns for several years before it showed itself, and I went trough the roof. Feeling bad then, and still now, I just have to sit and drive the Jaguar XK8 to feel relaxed, to feel rewarded, and to feel satisfied. For me the Jaguar XK8, of 1996 (one of the first on the road in the Netherlands, owned by a docter in those days) is driving a "middle finger" to the system and stupid society in wich I live in now. Why did you sell your Jaaaag??? You want to get depressed again? I predict, in one year or so, you have bought an other one.
Had a convertible for 10 years. No rust no rattles. Everything worked as it should and it had done 90k miles by the time I sold it. Brilliant cars if you buy the right one
The Jag was made in the same factory as spitfires were in Castle Bromwich. Also, some of the camouflage can still be seen on some of the older parts of the factory.
It's not perfect by any means but it's a Jag and it has a V8. The perfect antidote to all the boring EVs coming out at the moment. Arguably greener too!
Had one as I mentioned before, loved it, but, it just rotted away before my eyes, literally, shame, would I have another, damn yes, one of them cars you could look at all day and never get bored with it😎
IMO the X100 coupe is one of the most beautiful cars ever made. . . and the build quality would have been so much worse if BL executed it. That ajv8 ain't bad either; once you get the tensioners et al straightened out they're good for 150-200K miles easy.
Geoff, on a logical level makes no sense…but who cares about logic life is short enough. When we’re all in EV with the personality of domestic appliances we’ll wonder why we never had one, me included. You ticked the V8 box, you lived the dream!
Being in the car ‘game’ for 40years and having all the cars , I have never had so many comments about a car than I have on my 04 coupe, I adore it and will never sell.
i own one i paid £900 its still running good .i never have long days i drive my 1999 E38 728I FOR MILES And my Nuremburg ring is the M60 4 times round tonight , stockport the waves are nice . then the straight .MY E38 SEEN all over the city now .
Both are true! Lol. Ps you forgot their insatiable appetite for rust! My first one was a mechanical pup and my second one is a rusty nail! Still, got some 20" BBS detroit wheels to sell off it first

Classic all the way
It needs a dashboard that resembles a Hawker Hurricane wing so it can fit a few more gauges on it plus seats designed by Martin Baker.
Brilliant!
Carry on the good work.
Jon
If you buy one cheaply you will spend multiples of the purchase price to get it up to scratch. I know from experience
Douglas Bader mainly flew Hurricanes
