Thanks so much for your comment! It is one of my favorite leads of all time too - so melodic and flowing, yet searingly powerful at the right times! Thanks again!
Great comment! Thanks for watching/listening. Haha, my wife tells me the same thing about other things in life! Lol! Man, when you have no talent like me, it takes a LOT of concentration to try to play a song like this! In all seriousness, it gives me such appreciation for musicians who can play these kinds of songs, showing a lot of emotion, and looking like it’s no big deal to physically play it. Pretty amazing! Thanks again for watching and for your comment. Isn’t this is great tune??!! Cheers! Andy
Yes I really like Mountain's version - and For Yasgur's Farm is probably my other favorite Mountain tune. I may take that one on - love the solo parts in it! Thanks for the suggestion, and for the comment!
@@AJs-guitar-bass Thanks! If your interests have changed from guitar to bass I'll try to think of some bass heavy songs to recommend. The only one that really grabs me at the moment is "All American Alien Boy" by Ian Hunter that has a bass solo in it from the legendary Jaco Pastorious.
Hi Christopher! Thanks for watching and for your kind comment. As for tabs, I didn't use any. I just figured it out by ear, and try to play it the way that sounds right to me - not necessarily the "right" way, but the way that works for me. Do you have a video of how you play it? If so I'd be interested to see it - probably something I could learn or consider from it! :-) Thanks again! Cheers! Andy
@@mistersamdi totally agree. One of the greatest tunes of the early rock and roll era with some of the best guitar solos ever. Didn’t know that factoid about the Sopranos! Thank you for your comment! Cheers! Andy
@@AJs-guitar-bass Yes, I had to look up the episode again, I believe it is season 4 episode 5. I remember they played it in the background of the scene where they are talking in a bar or nightclub.
stumbled on this video today and not half shabby for an old guy (my age) in his mancave. If you want more inspiration, search YT for a live show they did in late 69 or 70 at New Cannan High School. It's almost the identical set they played at Woodstock just a few months before. I have to mention, I loaned some jokers a bit of really nice recording gear and had no idea they were making a bootleg tape that weekend.... and now it's on the web, some 50 years later.
Hi there! Thanks for the comment and for the tip on finding that recording - I checked it out and it's awesome! What a great natural player Leslie West was! His playing always had so much FEEL and melodic lines. I won't comment about the "old guy" remark - LOL! @@AJs-guitar-bass ... I live in lower Ct and Leslie lived in Queens, near NYC so they were almost a local band that we saw often. @@AJs-guitar-bass You’re very welcome, Andy! I love Mountain’s Woodstock live version of this song. Have you heard Colosseum’s 1970 studio version of this song? You can UA-cam it. Very nice!
I loved that song ever since the first time I heard it . I was about 13 years old at the time. Nice job!
Thanks for the comment Charles! I love this song too - so musical and melodic!
Such a nice job! Thanks for posting.

Thank you Rafael - and thanks for the request for a bass cover! I will do that as soon as I can! Stay tuned!! :-)
do you ever try to sing the song too? I've tried a couple times but the notes are just too high.
Haha! Trust me, you’d never want to hear me try to sing!! LOL!!
@@AJs-guitar-bass well okay no singing. Do you play 'Never In My Life', 'Sitting On A Rainbow' or 'Blood of the Sun'?

quite good, I assume you prefer Mountain's cover to,the original version. I suggest you do "For Yasgur's Farm" next.
