    Honorary mention (not exactly an invention): the word "pistol" (gun) comes from medieval Czech word "píšťala" (flute) for a handcannon.

    It's a very common misconception that Karel Čapek invented the word "robot". Karel Čapek was the first to use the word, but his brother, Josef Čapek, was the one who invented it.

    but Wikipedia says karl Landsteiner from Austria invented blood groups not Czechs

      KL found three basic blood groups. Mr Jansky, Czech, few years later, but found all, means 4.

      @@brit-in-czech He also invented rulers how each one reacts with the other. Before it was a huge risk.
