Both Saheeh Muslim and Saheeh Bukhari mention the Ahadith that Allah revealed the Quran in Seven Harf (styles of recitation). So each of these recitations were revealed by Allah, Almighty himself. Quran could be recited in any recitation by the Arabs in their most convenient dialect. For me and you, who do not know Arabic, it is most wise to circulate only one Style, but even amongst me and you live the Qaari who have memorized all styles of recitation so that whole Quran in all styles are preserved. For me and you, reciting in any style is equal, but for the Arabs 1400 years ago, there was no fixed Arabic grammar for them. Each city and region of Arabian peninsula had their own style of saying stuffs... Like you heard Alaihim and Alaihum and Alaihimu... So some cities would say "them" as "hum", other would say "them" as himu", and others would say "them" as him". Allah ﷻ sent down Quran in Seven different Harf (style) so the sahaba could choose any style according to their own ease. ------- This is very beginning level information I have given. If you want to dig deeper into the topic you can pursue knowledge from various books written. (Trust me UA-cam won't give you deeper answer because there simply isn't available a full fledged speech on this topic on UA-cam. If you really want to know deeper, you have to read books)
It’s sad, coz I understand the Arabs have differing dialects ... but it’s confusing how you contradict your own sunni traditions... uthman made the codex in order so it be recited consistently... we can not change the Quran based on dialect this is a very dangerous bidah!!!! The Quran is to be reflected on!!! I can not put any hadith over the written words of the Quran... saying alayhum and pausing is a bidah!!!! .... if we are to pause after each ayah it’s not necessary to pronounce the هٍ or هً but only if we are going to continue like in al fatihah “ yamideeni maliki “ if we are at pause we just say “ yaymindeen. Allah knows best
@@timothyruffle4777 are you a Shia? I am not asking this in hate or something... I am asking it because I want to know if the Shia brothers have a different understanding or different opinion about these Qira'at?
@@timothyruffle4777 we have the Saheeh chain of narration upon all the 10 Qira'at. Also all of these 10 Qira'at can be read upon the same Uthmani Mushaf. (Remember uthmani mushaf didn't had Harakaat or even dots over it... So all of these Qira'at can be read upon the same written text. Like عليهم can be read as Alaihim or Alaihum or Alaihimu depending upon the dialect) So different sahaba taught different dialects and all were preserved... The recitation of Mushaf we have in our homes has reached us through Ali R.A. and there are other Recitation from Abdullah ibn Musood and Ubayy ibn Kaab and Zaid ibn Thabit etc. We have preserved all of them. Though we also have 4 Qiraa'at which do not follow the Uthmani Mushaf and that's why they are called Shaadh Qira'at and they are not to be recited in Salah. So Uthman preserved text for us.... And he did it without Harakaat and Dots.. different sahaba taught in different cities how to pronounced those texts with Harakaat and Dots... And thus these 10 Saheeh Qira'at come forward.. all of them have same meanings, only different pronounciations.
Can someone explain please how does the translation/meaning change with these different types of recitation, if any changes are apparent. JazakAllah khair

@@MuhammadFarhan-vo1kv it's sad that you leave islam on the basis of such a baseless argument. I personally never heard of that takfeer before. What you even stated has nothing to do with the preservation of the Quran, since even if his pronunciation is wrong that is to be blamed on shortcomings of the reciting person and I do not see whatsoever how you link that with the preservation of the Quran. I'm not here to argue and won't reply if you try to, but it looks like you are confused and should not have left islam because of your lack of knowledge as you would not be able to leave it if you used sound reasoning. ua-cam.com/video/8hj7u0F3yEg/v-deo.html hopefully this video help
- The 10 Qira'at are styles of reading and recitation
- The Qur'an was revealed on the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ in 7 Ahruf (in order to facilitate reading the Quran and memorizing it for the other Arab tribes with different arabic dialects and accents at that time) which gave the 10 Qira'at, so basically they are all a revelation from Allah ﷻ to make it easy for other arab tribes with other dialects.
So The Qur'an = The 7 Ahruf = The 10 Qira'at.
And we are proud of those 10 Qira'at and there is a whole islamic science about them.
I'm aware there are even some different words but these differences in the Qira'at (like "those who fought" and "those who were killed") are not contradictory but rather each one gives another layer of meaning (for example: you may fight in the sake of God without being killed, and you have your reward, and you may fight and be killed and in this case you're a martyr and you have your reward. Another example in the first chapter: King vs Master, which are not contradictory but each one adds another layer of meaning) and I found these Qira'at aligned with the challenge that The Qur'an produces ie "Come with something like it or come with even just one chapter like it", here these Qira'at are facilitating the challenge more by giving other complementary possibilities to the people, and they are showing that if God wants to come with something like the Qur'an using different words or in different dialects it's really easy for Him. And also another point is "how can the prophet Muhammad know all these dialects and new words that the people of his envir didn't know, knowing that he couldn't even read or write ?"
And also there is no issue at all that these Qira'at are all preserved and tracked back to the prophet Muhammad pbuh, they are all transmitted by Mutawathir (a really really strict way of transmission, there is no doubt that a single letter can't be changed)
A recommendation :

I think easiest way for u to understand its like uk accent and us accent they both use’s word “water” but they pronounce different same as here sounds different reads different but meaning the same and all qiraats is from prophet ﷺ time and there is a hadith in at-tirmizi 3196 if imnnot wrong basicly in hadith says that angel gabreel said to prophet ﷺ that ppl can read quran in 7 way. Pls explain this ya akih why multiple style?why change some letter? isn't this contradictory that quraan is 1?

This is very beginning level information I have given.

Like عليهم can be read as Alaihim or Alaihum or Alaihimu depending upon the dialect)
So different sahaba taught different dialects and all were preserved...
