You have a real talent not just for the lamp working but also for making great videos. I would love to see a materials list where you listed all your other videos. Thanks again
Yes, I sure did like this helpful video. What I learned is that when building up the disks, being on top of the flame utilizes the heat that rises up from the flame... Yea .... AND I learned that the swipe method is okay... I have problems keeping a uniform snake going down consistently as the disk I'm making turns. Now I see - your way works too. For sure I'm going to try it your way next time. WooHoo! Big happy happy here. 'appreciate ya, Kerri.
Hi Babette! I'm glad you found this tutorial helpful! There are many different ways to create hollow beads so even though there are other tutorials out there, I thought it would be helpful to some to see how I do them. Everyone has a different approach and so it's sometimes good to try different techniques to get the result you want. Thanks for your feedback and happy torching! :)
Wonderful tutorial Kerri! Hollow beads are probably my favorite & are featured in nearly all of my handmade earrings! It’s fascinating to see how they’re made! I have to comment (as I did last week), on your voice! You were made to do this! So soothing, steady & sure! Wonderful! 👏🏻
Awe, thank you so much! I do indeed love my job and I'm glad that comes through in my videos! I appreciate the feedback so much! Thanks for watching! :)
Thank you, Helen! I remember the day I mastered my first one (it wasn't perfect, but I was sooo proud of it!). I've loved making hollow beads ever since! :)
Hello, I love your hollow beads. It's a great tutorial, thanks. I just have one question: how do you get your bead release out of your bead??? thanks in advance
Can't wait to try this! Your talent is amazing. I tried these many years ago and was never successful. Is the Bear Foot tool a must? Thank you again Kerri :)
I use a vice to hold the mandrel. Be sure to soak the bead so the bead release is wet first and then twist the bead gently. It works like a charm. :) I hope that helps!
The way it inflates from this lumpy thing into a perfect clear bubble really shows how magical glass is
I come back to this tutorial over and over. It’s beautiful to watch and so well done. Thank you 🙏

When you dip the tools into water, do you also have to dry them off before using them again? Sorry if I missed it in the video; I'm puppy sitting 😂

Hi Kerri. What do you use to clean the bead release out of the hollow bead?
Looking for advice on removing bead release, that is why I have stayed away from transparent hollows. Thanks
Podrías agregar el proceso de desmonte de la perla? No he visto ningún video que lo muestre... aún . Gracias.
Were your rods in a warmer or is the room warmer? I can't dip my rods in that quick without it cracking. Any tips?
how do you take it off the mandrel?
I use a vice to hold the mandrel. Be sure to soak the bead so the bead release is wet first and then twist the bead gently. It works like a charm. :) I hope that helps!
may I ask what colours do you use? Thanks
Hi Gabi! I used Effetre dark and medium amber and light purple. :) But you can use any combination of transparent colours for a lovely effect!
Please spend a few seconds at end of videos to show completed beads. It would be much appreciated. Thank you for your time
