Definately use wire I'm not willing to lose even on lure and you will catch more fish especially since the water is so dirty in nt. I use around 1 Meter of wire Spanish are crazy.
Small boats and you are not wearing PFD , wear them. your lives are not worth losing for a fish... think how your family's would feel hearing the news you drowned...

I mostly use a 30lb setup but if the gt were big you'd be wanting more especially if they are on alot of reef.
Fish for GT's by casting to coral bommies and see how the snapper outfit fairs :)
