My neighbours daughter got all A* in her mocks but got DDC whereas my a boy a few roads down who goes to s private school got CCC in mocks but A*A*A Like wtf
Joshua Yuan part of the grades were assessed based on past school results so if a bad student goes to a high achieving school they were more likely to get better grades
Honestly, I understand. I did my A-levels a few years ago, didn’t try in mocks very much. In the December mock before my psychology exam I got a U in psychology. Nothing changed, besides the grade boundaries (our teacher marked harshly too), and I came out with a B, with full marks in 3/4 of the 16 markers. In mocks I achieved an average of B’s and C’s and came out with A*,A*,A,B. Sometimes people don’t try in mocks, or don’t understand everything in that time span. However, not everyone can get A*’s. There’s still gotta be a balance involved. Which sucks, but that happens every year. People can be on the cusp of a grade, but bc 50% of people got one more mark than them they don’t get it. However, the way the government has down graded people by 2-3 grades is disgusting. The fact Cambridge and Oxford have given offers to individuals, which is extremely intense and rigorous as it is, shows that they’re capable of getting high grades. But due to the algorithm they’re no longer eligible. It’s a truly sad time.
You are so pretty and intelligent - well done for your results ! I’d love a vid on how to revise for a level and things like that. I’m going into sixth form (if I get the grades! ) in September and I’m so nervous ! X
Hopefully, due to the backlash, there will be reparations because there is no way that they can screw that many people over and just carry on like it's nothing.
well they have done a Uturn now anyway, so now everybody gets what their teacher's predicted. Good and Bad thing...alot of people will get the grades they deserve but alot will also get better grades just because their teachers were nice/on purposely gave them generous predictions
Congrats on your good grades..... Unfortunately not many people survived the "grade Purge", me being one of them, but being heartbroken and stressed isn't the answer cus this will pass, just as every night turns into a day, this difficulty will also end IA. P. S. Hannah don't feel guilty, just be happy
It was a few months ago now but on results day I was given BCC; my CAGs were ABB and then I took the autumn exams for History I’ve finally got my official A-Level grades of AAB today🥳
I've got my GCSE results on Thursday, but I literally have no excitement or nervousness whatsoever because I didn't take the exams, and my grades are at a level where it just wouldn't make a difference in the grand scheme of things if a like 4/5 subjects were a grade lower
I agree that the system kinda sucked because with my GCSEs last year I went from being predicted a 1 in history throughout all of year 11 and then in the actual exam I got an 8. I feel like it really sucked the way they calculated the results and it was really unfairly marked depending on whether you went to a state school or a private school :/ because ✨classism✨
I get my GCSE results on Thursday and honestly in the past week, the anxiety levels have gone from second to none to breaking through the roof! I'm very nervous but we will hope for the best in the evidently flawed system, not just for me but for an entire generation...
My results day is on Thursday. Best of luck to everyone :) I also go to a school that has been ranked as inadequate since I started there so my grades are gonna be so bad lmaoo
I'm disappointed in my results. I worked so hard just to get my predicted grades smh. Can't even appeal it 😔. Good luck to the guys who are waiting on their GCSE's 🙏
Congratulations on getting your grades. I was hoping to get a B in psychology or at least a C. But I got an E, and so did my friend. I'm pretty sure last year the psychology department got really bad results as our teacher doesn't really know what he's talking about and the class have to correct him alot. I will be sitting the psychology exam in autumn even though I don't remember much. I applied through clearing and got in to a musical theatre course x
I have just finished my Biomed course at University, I was targeted a 2.2 at Christmas as my grades dropped but I achieved a 2.1 in July. Anything can happen and I feel so sorry for studnets who didn't get a chance to prove teachers wrong
It’s not quite the same due to A levels having a lot more riding on them, but the AP Exams this year in the US had a lot of criticism and problems with them too. Several of my friends did their entire exams just for the exam servers to stop working. It wasn’t the same for anyone, but we will all make it through
I’m doing my GCSE’s next year.. dreading that because I’ve no clue what’s gonna happen with the grades. Feeling for all the people who are getting any type of exam results now tbh
Im one of those students that pull through at the end of the year and I didn’t get that end. I was severely downgraded and now i have no idea what to do. I can’t even go to my sixth form anymore because they won’t let me into year 13
Me having 2 of my grades downgraded and missing my very competitive course medicine at university because I live in a poor area and need free school meals 👁👄👁 btw CONGRATULATIONS! Hopefully my appeals come back 😂😂. But why is it always our year group? SATs, GCSEs and then Alevels!
NOOOO! is there anything you can do? have you appealed for teachers predicted?? gone through clearing? explained it? that’s so terrible i’m wishing the best for you man :(
My teachers keep telling me i shoul get a pass/ merit (c/b) for my a level acting but with this whole system I have no idea what I'm going to get as I get the results tommorow.
I am expecting my GCSE results in 3 days and the government suddenly does a u-turn on allowing us to get our teachers’ predicted grade. I am obviously happy about that, but wouldn’t that mean your A in English would get downgraded?
Antihan it’s whatever, i had an unconditional from my uni that i wasn’t really planning to go to anyway, have an apprenticeship that i got a call back from so that’s looking more likely
See I kinda got what I expected for my a levels except for sociology (that grade made no real sense), but they weren't exactly what I got predicted. But I guess I don't really get to complain considering I still secured a place in uni even if I grades weren't completely close to what they asked for
I've always found the british grading system confusing as hell and situations like these don't seem to make it any better, but anyways congrats with your grades! :)

In our school we get grade averages and our exam was cancelled so a bunch of work were on the projects. But I really needed that final exam to boost my grades. So in the end I got an 84% average which is Honours
