Personally I appreciate all the info about the full specifications, such as the why’s of the variation in the leather. Great truck with a great video to go along. Wish I could send you soon my ‘66 TBird for a full makeover, but have to recover from pandemic finance first.
That color is nice. I had a '48 3/4 ton Thriftmaster - was underwhelmed by it's general lack of everything satisfying other than it's looks. You're the man.
Always loved those rear windows. Classic rims. As a matter of taste, and a little practicality, I would prefer to elevate the cargo box side walls and tailgate to the level of the feature line just below the bottom of the windows, because to me anyway, the cargo box is out of proportion to the cab and hood. But that's me -- I suppose the historical integrity must be maintained. Wouldn't there also be a one-ton version with higher box size? Again, I just admire the quality of workmanship, and this one is no exception. I wouldn't mind seeing a small GM diesel or rebuilt Detroit Diesel in one of these guys. Of course, the customer probably wants the muscle.
The Saturday Night Joke A pastor was 10-minutes into his sermon when he noticed his young son in the balcony with a pea-shooter. He was leaning over the "balcony"-aiming, and popping people in the head. As the pastor prepared to deliver a very public scolding of his boy - the 7 year-old son hollered out, “You keep preaching Dad, and I’ll keep’em awake!
Another fine example. I like wheels that seem like they are factory or ear related as chrome 5 spoke mags or such would be so wrong and detract from the overall appearance.
This is my favorite so far of all the builds. Love this. Do you like the 62-63 Studebaker Avanti? My personal dream would be creating one as a Reformer or Derelict. I love this color palette and think it would suit the Avanti. Well maybe some Cognac in the interior as well with some funky cloth inserts. Sigh, a boy can dream. Edited to say I really like those rims in that color. Also to the comment at the end. If I had any money I would have a garage full of Icons. I love them all. Such a perfect blend of usability and art and engineering.
I would like to see how the seat belt was mounted up high by your shoulder. FYI You can drive with the AC on from now on because we couldn't hear the blower motor only that sweet sounding power plant!
Sick sick sick.....icon emblem on that color....stance and look with the old paint....dash patina.....I am still up and down with resto mods......but more I look at your truck's they have that Pollock dali vintage high art feel.....like they are there own thing......lol.....this is probably all ready known.....love them .....plz keep building
Love all his builds derelict or otherwise. The thoughtfulness in design through quality of the build is amazing. But my favorite derelict is a Desoto wagon (I think it was a wagon) he did. Not sure why. Maybe because you hardly ever see Desotos. That Tesla powered Merc is right up there too.
I need two. One midnight blue w/chocolate full-grain leather & bison on the doors & dash. and a black derelict w/a lt7, red/black alligator interior & African blackwood in the bed. (Both manual)
As awesome as this truck as right now, it is only going to look better as it gets older as the leather interior softens and patinas to match the outside.
Beautiful work as always, how do deal with the Derelict interior so far as cleanliness, odor if any, and/or peeling paint or possible rough surfaces etc. Does Icon do a finishing type surface layer over the original patina to maintain it's aged original appearance? I see you're wearing the Blancpain Aqualung again, it must be your daily watch. I'll be looking for it when you and Jay review the electric Mercury. I am absolutely beside myself for the final review and drive.
I’m surprised at the lack of wind noise with the windows up. These old trucks were not very aerodynamic. My 1957 Chevy pickup creates an enormous amount of wind noise, even below highway speeds.
No, I meant the American version of the Toyota Hilux, titled in the US as Toyota Pickup, spanning from 1972 to 1995. Replaced in 1996 by the Toyota Tacoma. I think it would be more of a TLC4x4 thing. Didn’t realize they had parted ways.
Would never pass inspection in my state with whatever modern garbage they used to reattach the VIN. Removing that even for restoration is a felony and they'll straight up tell you to tape it and paint over
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.!!! (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN & BEFVO laws)!!!!
Absolutely beautiful truck and it's a manual maybe in my next life I won't be so broke and I could buy one
I love their builds , always tastefully done from stem to stern .
Stern to bow.

Art in motion. It’s beautiful.
Team ICON never disappoints.
Just awesome. I think I'd do the derelict thing so I wasn't paranoid about scratching it.
Another wonderful work of art.
Congratulations Mr. Ward and team.
Greetings from Cordoba, Argentina!
Watching from the State of Rhode Island-fabulous-again.
Another masterpiece! ICON is absolutely in a league of their own!!
That’s a good looking truck… Holy shit! You have a Graham Hollywood on your lot!
Ashamed to say I haven’t watched one for a while, this is a fantastic build, what a great start to a Saturday morning 👍🏻
That dash patina is epic! Funny how the most important features of this truck (in terms of style and character) are the ones you didn’t touch.
Your ideas and craftsmanship are truly inspiring!!!... we had a 49 , 5 window pick up.... 👍👍👍
These builds just keep getting more awesome probably my favorite ones are the thrift master derilicts
