    Just realised this is nearly five years old. Things have changed a lot in your loft Sam. i have a great fondness for Tri-ang having had them as a kid. great video.

    Good stuff! Always had a lot of time for the Tri-ang Pullmans and have recently reacquired a rake. Like my other favourite from my youth - the blue Pullman - they run indifferently on the new track, but such is life. Like the scenery in situ too .....

      I love them, they seem to be much more robust than modern rolling stock (We'll see if that's true in 50 years or so)
      The tri-ang blue Pullman is excellent too, I only have the locos though, not the coaches!
      Thanks for the scenery comment, I made it just last week but am hoping to grow it :)
      Cheers,
      Sam

    Another thought, the Pullmans were made for many years, if you buy any more look out for the later ones with pin point axles, then you can swap the wheels. These then behave on the points. : )
    Cliff.

    • @SamsTrains
      @SamsTrains  10 років тому

      Yeah, those would be much more ideal :(
      I bought my tri-ang pullmans (two of them) from a toy collection in Scotland, they only had the really early items there!
      Thanks again,
      Sam

    Well done Sam, these old coaches are testing your patience. One idea for a Tri-ang running session could be to reduce the number of points on the circuits, even temporarily.
    The scenery is coming on great.
    Cliff.

    • @SamsTrains
      @SamsTrains  10 років тому

      That's a good idea - I'm already developing a smaller test layout which doesn't have points just for this! I tend to find that in-line points are not too bad, just ones that are directly after a curve cause the big problems :(
      Thanks very much on the scenery front; I think I've gotten the hang of paper mache now ;)
      Cheers,
      Sam

    All my stock is triang Sam in oo Gauge. I agree the pullman coaches are special.I was 5 yrs old when i got my 3 pullman coaches as part of the intercity express train set,with the green class 37 loco....in 1969 Still have them now.Have one or 2 broken coupling ends..The very end of the hooks,so get decoupling now and then.Sadly the couplings were of course not removeable to replace them.Nice vid....Another one of your older ones i have just found....Got those American style coaches too...Or are they Australian ?? Not sure...Cheers Ade

      @SamsTrains  6 років тому

      Good choice Adrian - the tri-ang stuff won't let you down! Yeah that's true - I have a couple with broken couplings too unfortunately - oh well! :/

    An updated Triang coach video would be cool where you would take a deep look at the different ont they made. There is next to nothing about them on UA-cam.

    I've been looking for pullman coaches and I found some triang ones cheap, before I buy them I want to know if the wheels these work on modern hornby track?

    • @LHoriginal

      Nevermind, I just got to the bit of video where you mentioned about the wheels

    • @SamsTrains

    Do I understand it well that these Triang Pullman coaches are shortened? Does it mean there are less windows and seats than there should be? By the way, as for these poor wheelsets: I have a Triang coach “Ruth” and I have replaced the bogies and wheelsets - a much better runner now …. 🙋‍♂️

    I didn't enjoy seeing those stinky diesels. But having said that, I'm sure it was my uncanny sneezing that caused the 37's train to detach near the rear. I'm wondering how many more of your videos I'm going to sneeze in the middle of, before I can get rid of my nasty cold. Not too many more, I hope. Yet, it seems that the more diesels I see running round your layout, the more likely it is that they'll make me sneeze. Get rid of them, before I start sneezing all the way through a video.

    • @SamsTrains
      @SamsTrains  5 років тому
