Bought this as soon as it came out and while I did love it at first, there are a lot of compromises Dell forces on you from logo dimming to gamma. I upgraded to the ASUS PG32UCDM and it’s amazing because it has two sRGB modes that target two different gammas (2.2 and sRGB) and these two are very different looking. On dell website they added this : "The USB-C port on your Alienware AW2725DF supports USB Power Delivery, Data, and DisplayPort video signal. The USB-C port can be used for video and data signals, and supply power (90 W) to a compatible laptop using a single USB-C cable that is provided with the monitor." I believe the cable allows you and shows in the quick install instructions that the DP end of the cable plugs into one of the 2 DP input ports on the back of the monitor and the USB C side into a laptop to allow use of the display. So no charging of laptop just display output to monitor. And per the website 1 x USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) Type-C downstream port which supports BC1.2 power-charging (Bottom) no mention of display port alt mode on Type C port.

Why can't we have low latency 60hz strobing on these OLEDs? It's totally possible. Why do we have to pretend that 60hz non-strobed is clear and not totally smeared? 360hz is awesome but hardly anything maxes out the refresh rate apart from esports.
@@Kumoiwa Good point, but surely like some TVs we could get extra brightness without the pixels burning out as they'd be off for half or more of the time.
@@0mnis14sh makes sense but 200hz on tv for strobing is started off as a colour thing due to the white backlight washing out the colours and then as a motion clarity thing due to residue from previous frames. On the official website of the monitor it says hdmi 2.1.
We’ve done a video explaining this situation, feel free to check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/tzW1KtZaaE8/v-deo.htmlsi=2rmKqImLS8dtQOxo
its brightness is very strong i didn't like it i went from a va to an Ips the difference is gigantic and the black of the ips is bizzaro my eye is burning with so much brightness
At that price is laughable it doesn't have HDMI 2.1.
You don't need 2.1 for Pc
@@KoiPrincess. Yes you do, 2.1 is higher bandwidth and can run the monitor without DSC
Is this a joke? It’s the cheapest 360hz monitor. Of course it will have some compromises. If you want the port buy rog or something for 300 more for a worse panel
@@fin4658u only need a display port for pc my guy
Just use display port
The website says its got an HDMI2.1
We’ve actually done a video on this. Manufacturers can claim HDMI 2.1 despite not supporting the bandwidth. ua-cam.com/video/tzW1KtZaaE8/v-deo.htmlsi=bsb43m83ufw4-EAH
360hz with freesync premium pro + vesa adaptive sync
VS
165hz with freesync premium pro + vesa adaptive sync + gsync compatible
"Watches the AW2725DF review on own AW2725DF monitor"... perfect!
Why can't we have low latency 60hz strobing on these OLEDs? It's totally possible. Why do we have to pretend that 60hz non-strobed is clear and not totally smeared? 360hz is awesome but hardly anything maxes out the refresh rate apart from esports.
Because strobing destroys HDR and makes these already dim monitors even dimmer
@@Kumoiwa Good point, but surely like some TVs we could get extra brightness without the pixels burning out as they'd be off for half or more of the time.
@@0mnis14sh makes sense but 200hz on tv for strobing is started off as a colour thing due to the white backlight washing out the colours and then as a motion clarity thing due to residue from previous frames. OLED products suffer with neither of them problems so I guess they chose not to go down that route. Would be a good feature though for sure
"hardly anythint maxes out 360fps" ??? wdym. the whole OS runs on 360fps, so your mouse, all windows, all animations, everything is at 360?
@@wnllkmusic I mean content. Like videos and games. All those UA-cam videos, every fighting game ever made, or any console game or arcade game for that matter. Even hugely taxing games on PC can look amazingly crisp and smooth at 60fps but who wants to run that on a normal LCD?
Heard some people complaining about using it with g sync - so it’s not officially g sync compatible… maybe there is a g sync model of this 27 inch version coming in the future?
If you watch the video he says and it shows that it is Gysnc compatible and they tested it working.
@@steverussell9947 because of that I Wrote my comment … so there are definitely issues with using g sync … many reviewers had these issues
@@MrChrisGER It could be as simple as the game being tested, firmware, or some kind of software issue.
Have this monitor and Gsync works just fine on it
There's a gsync variant of the same. But it comes with 165hz refresh rate

Pg32UCDM.
ASUS PG32UCDM.
Ordered it 2,5 weeks ago from the dell shop. It arrived, i loved it. 2nd day it died. I was able to send it back. I was lucky having a real person on the phone. But after that the support and communication are a mess. I dont even know when I might get a new one... not even a hint.
Hopefully they made you whole at this point...

I can't wait for 2024 Sony Tvs review !
Best FPS monitor ever
I'm to old for this monitor
I'm to broke for this monitor.
Great review. Unfortunately this tv is terrible with the ps5 regardless of ALL settings. Tearing and blurry motions in all resolutions. Bought this from high reviews on your website, but this tv was quickly returned. I guess for the sub 1k price on a 55” I can maybe ever so slightly understand the high ratings you guys posted for this tv.
Keep up the hard work and glad you guys are doing all of this research 😃
So it’s $300 right?
No? $900!?
Oof… I’m more interested in something less pricey.
Honest review here. Had this 2 days playing mw2 on xbox series x. The picture after finally settling on one is subpar. My Gigabyte 28q Pic look 2 times better. However, the smoothness is way better on AW2725DF.
I will never buy another expensive monitor. I'll stick to 2 to 4 hundred dollar range
Subpar? What are you actually doing with the modes on the monitor? This monitor has extremely wide color gamut and can hold those colors at high luminance's. And has very color accurate modes available right out of the box. In fact it's one of THE best calibrated gaming monitors on the market.
Hope the manufacturers will come out 144/165Hz OLED for 1440p & 1080p display.
Why? Wouldn’t be cheaper. The OLED tech is fast.
@@FuncleChuck For different market and mid end & lower end gamers. As not every one could afford for high end OR go for high end product.
Yes, I know it is fast but they also has 240Hz display. Since a lof of games nowadays could barely hit that much of FPS (mostly under 100 for single player game) so not much point to get so high refresh rate, at least to me.😅
Buy a tv
#NeverOLED
This is like shooting yourself in the foot and giving a thumbs up.
Once you go oled, you'll never go back to lcd, mini led or anything else. There's no comparison.
OLED is great.
Don't let the burn-in boogeyman scare you. I've ran my LG C1 hard, and I've yet to see burn in from game HUDs.
@@georgejones5019 based fellow c1 owner. I also have a c9, a 34w3dw, and a new 3225qf. I ran my c9 to the ground as well as my ultrawide and never got hit a link of burn in. As daily work pc monitors.
It's impossible to go back to IPS after using OLED screens
Will the Xbox series x run 1440p 120hz with this monitor?
