As a sharks fan I can't even be mad and I don't get how you can be mad at this. We do not have the talent to compete with the Avs and Blackwood stood on his head and the pk played great. It was a great effort but the better team won. gg avs

As a Devils fan, I've been saying since last season that NJ should've given Blackwood more chances and kept him. The only reason why he wasn't good in NJ is because he hasn't been healthy ever since he got COVID, and now he's healthy again. The last time he was healthy, he led the league in SV%. Letting him go was a mistake.
That would make the trade a total steal if true. I love Meier but he is never worth 8 to 9 mill a year. I would love to see him win a cup on the Devil's though. The Sharks won the trade so far just not paying Meier 8 to 9 mill a year but the Devil's can win a cup now to prove me wrong.

The Sharks are better off doing a full rebuild at this point but sure Meier is not as much a scorer for the cap price compared to Logan.

But credit where it's due, outside of the godlike performance of Blackwood the sharks had 27 blocked shots, kept a large percentage of the shots to the outside, they even controlled segments of the game. All while their captain and 2nd best scorer didn't play, Granlund was injured, Vlasic left game in the 1st. Stop saying bs like Blackwood was the only good thing for SJ. It's lazy commenting and boring.
I agree that the sharks defensive play should get some credit(tempered by the fact that they also gave up several very dangerous scoring opportunities), but they got next to nothing going offensively. The fact that the sharks had more shot blocks than shots on goal says a lot about the game.
