This is how brexit happened. People like this thinking everything is conspiracy, wearing a grey jumper with yellow stars on it means pro EU? How knows how you haven't gone insane when the queen wore the blue hat and yellow stars on it.
Racism is more than just calling someone a name, it's an ideology at an institutionalised level, I think this is what people fail to grasp. Real racism is about power over ethnicity, not the ability to exchange racial slurs, anyone can do that. You can get over someone calling you a name, or attacking you, but racial inequality and media racial profiling is a much tougher obstacle, particularly when there isn't enough counter representation to combat it. I think people tend to get too caught up over slurs, you are missing the wider issue tremendously. Real racism is about people of colour not being adequately and fairly represented in POSITIONS OF POWER and mainstream. You can argue to the hills as to why that is the case, but maybe you should start with 200 plus years of conditioning to make people believe that black people are somehow inferior to their non black counterparts. The xenophobia has also become a normal part of mainstream media now, not just for black people, but for anyone who is not considered to be the archetypal white man. So instead of worrying about a stupid random football fan calling someone a name, maybe we should still be asking why there aren't enough black referees, top level managers or board executives? Those are the real issues and that's just within the football sphere, you could extend that question even further beyond the sport. No, it's not because black people are knifing each other to death as the media only like to report, there are plenty of well educated qualified black people who are not involved in crime that simply disappear off the radar and nobody ever goes to the same level of effort to dig out statistics to analyse why that is the case. Instead we focus on banana skins being thrown on the pitch and wearing little T Shirts asking for racism to be stamped out, little moot gestures. Overt racism is nowhere near as bad as it was say pre 2000's, but you saw it crawl out of the woodwork after the Brexit result. It's still there and I believe it will rear its ugly head again soon once a certain section of Brexiteers don't get what they want. Covert racism never went anywhere. So to answer the question, the issue actually transcends British culture.
Having a discussion about racism does not do anything. Do you think Sterling really cares what people say about him. He was very clever in the way he used social media and now every one is talking about it. This is a guy who is on top of his game, playing for a top club and an England international. When I saw the documentary Liverpool did and the way Rogers talked to him I knew then there was no way he was going to stay at Liverpool.

I’m sorry but I’ve been going to the football since 2007 when I was 4. I’ve heard outright racist abuse about 3 times, every time they were instantly shut down and condemned by people around them. These are at the Sunderland games. A place which is no where near as multi cultural as London. This week the incident with sterling and last week the incident with Aubameyang. Is multiculturalism working? Also, their is no way that racism in football is a massive issue. It hardly ever happens and the people who aren’t racist instantly condemn it. They are 4 idiots out of 42000
Mighty Marouane Fellaini 4 idiots Brave enough to spew their hatred in public. MANY others choose to do so silently by venting on online forums like the daily mail and stormfront. Stop ✋ trying to act like this whole thing in general isn’t an underling problem.
I would like to know what the steward who sat in front of these wankers has to say about the alleged abuse. Instead of staring at the players he should have looked at the fans and try look out for abuse which is his job. Whether that Chelsea fan said something racist or not, Sterling does speak the truth about media racism which simpletons are unaware of. You don't need to use just racist words to be racist.
Are Joe Molloy and Ger Gilroy obliged to go over "problematic" or "grim" behaviour of others (particularly issues regarding race, LGBT, sexism - against women......obviously, misogyny) every few days? It smacks of patronising behaviour and implicitly going for the self praise option ("we of course would never be guilty of this"). Sterling gets a hard time but it can't simply be assigned to racism willy nilly. How come they never discuss Paul Pogba (a world cup winner and world XI class player) in this regard? Let's consider their good friend Graeme Souness on that, a man so seemingly obsessed with Paul Pogba you'd genuinely have to wonder why! A man who also singled out Jesse Lingard for criticism during the world cup, despite his notable contributions to England's success in the tournament. Did Graeme comment on the shitshow from Jordan Henderson? Nope! Maybe Joe should ask him next time he meets him for a mocha! Not as easy to criticising a nameless wall of journos though is it.
I don’t condemn any sort or racism and Raheem Stirling should never at any point have to go through that or any player or person in life . But there are many things on social media where people have been clearly racist towards white people and funnily enough that doesn’t get one single bit of mainstream media attention . Yes racism still exists but it works both ways let’s not play the victim when behind closed doors many people and different cultures are racist towards white people
Of course racism against white people does exist, but it exists mostly on an individual basis and isn't institutional in the same way as racism against black people. In other words it's unlikely to affect white people's opportunities in life, particularly in the predominantly white-governed western world. I don't want to belittle any form of discrimination against any group of people, but I just don't think the two are comparable in terms of their impact.

And saying out Jew masters isn’t racist ? see it’s okay to for you to be racist towards whites but if I offend you about maybe your beloved Muslim culture you would throw a girly hissy fit like they all do and god forbid I would never hear the end of it . And that’s what’s wrong with the world at the moment it’s one rule for one one rule for another everyone should be on the news for being racist to show every culture and every religion it’s not acceptable.
It’s not only a British issue. The racist element has gotten encouragement from the Trump administration. Since he ran for office they have consistently gotten loader & louder & clearly believe he’s given them encouragement to do so. The racist issue has never gone away, it’s just been under the surface. They now feel that it’s ok to step forward when in the past they were pushed into the shadows.
