Tupping Time!

- In this video Rosie starts off by explaining how the blackie tup jumped in with the correct group of girls, just two days sooner than he should have. Therefore, she popped in the cheviot tups a day later so he wouldn't get too much of a head start. First she opens the gate down by the river to allow one group of ewes onto fresh grazing, kept for tupping time. Next, Rosie, Doug and Sue check the hill for any possible missed ewes. However, it turns out that it is just the neighbours sheep. Nevertheless, an effort is made to remove these sheep from a young plantation of trees, resulting in some success. After this, the older Suffolks and one of the new texel tups are put in with the girls down by the river. Next, the four new Suffolks and two new texels are put in with the last remaining group of ewes. About a week later, our homebred tup, Taurus, goes in with the girls by the river to catch any that might have been missed. Taurus is very good at his job!
