With due respect to KW, This version makes his look amateurish in my opinion. Nothing can top this example of perfect collaboration. Master Class in every way. Blessed to be exposed to such flawlessness from Stan Walker's Commanding lead vocals, the band and backing vocals, and the recording. Everyone complimenting each other in the highest quality possible. Grateful man right here.
When ever you get the chance, listen to "New Light" a Stan Walker and Vince Harder composition also accompanied by "The Levites" and company as in "Ultralight Beam" and "Amazing Grace". It too will bring you to the conclusion that there's no other comparison to "Stan Walker and The Levites" anywhere on this earth at this time.
Stan is the best!!! In every way, not just as an artist, but as a person. He's been through a lot in his life. There is a documentary here on UA-cam which follows his cancer journey and explains his family's genetic health challenges. His stomach was removed due to this. To be singing like this is just beyond incredible ❤️
What an awesome reaction, I really liked how musically confused you looked at the end. You're so right, Stan and the Levites made this theirs, but thanks Kanye
Stan is the most humblest guy as well. Always at one of the schools here giving his time... the kids love it! Literally, every kid in NZ says he's their uncle 😂😅
Chance the rapper featured on Kanye West's version of this song which was to acknowledge their Faith and values. This cover was created in support of the BLM Movement due to everything that was happening over in America. The fact that Stan Walker had his stomach removed 2018 due to a cancerous gene that was in his family bloodline. (Losing over 20+ family members) and can still sing so effortlessly is a testimony in itself. 🙏 Much Respect to KW but they definitely vocally killed this cover ❤ Much Love from New Zealand
"The Levites" is the band. I think the name of the background singing group is "The Standard". There are so many beautiful Stan Walker songs... past and present!! You gotta hear Don't Dream It's Over for sure! And Stan keeps old school R&B alive on track 11 on his latest album "All In". Tune called Never Be Alone. Check it out and Enjoy!
@D.Lynn, thank you for pronouncing Levites correctly......I cant believe some of the other reactors and their pronunciation of LEVITES! Its a biblical name 🤦🏾♀️
Stan is amazing and one of my favourite artists. He won the last Australian idol and is from New Zealand, should check out Guy Sebastian who won the first Australian idol and is just as good as Stan in my opinion. Guy Sebastian “battles scars” live acoustic at the home front in a must to check out
George Ibrahim. Yeah I agree with your opinion of Stan and Guy, but in my opinion Stan gives more emphasis on emotional value and with Guy it's technique. Though the international fans are denied the joy of these two incredibly talented souls both deserve the appreciation they get.
I wish the aussies would stop claiming kiwi artists, every one of these musicians is kiwi recording at roundhead studio in Auckland NZ. Nothing about this has anything to do with Australia
@@robynandrews4384 Mesmerizing. He is singing from the depths of his soul with all his heart! Absolutely beautiful! And looking right handsome as well! ❤ (My family name is Andrews. Grandfather from Grenada 😉)
@@reneerasul3347 Totally agree. It definitely comes from his soul. My grandfather immigrated from France but his families originally from Croatia (or so we believe). It was originally Andzue
Many will tell you about Stan and the Levites version of Amazing Grace / I Surrender. Trust me, that's my next request AFTER next month's Jelly Roll (sorry to ruin the surprise but Jelly is another favourite). I know we've done several Amazing Grace's (including last month's reaction by Cakra Khan) and didn't want to push too many at you but, ah, yeah, it's "unexpected". There was a "kind of" rap section in this song (and Stan did it) if you listen but honestly the man can sing. Stan is a Cancer survivor. He literally has no stomach. The man is incredible. In this performance (and Amazing Grace) you actually notice the background vocals. In fact here they get not one but two major individual runs EACH in the song. Was there "production" on the song? They recorded in a studio, of course there was BUT it wasn't brutally obvious. We kind of figured you didn't listen to the Kanye version when you kept getting the song title wrong (lol). In so far as Mr. West goes, like faith, you can't force help really on someone if they don't think they need it or want it. By this I mean you can't force someone to have true faith. They must accept it. Help goes the same way. You must want it, ask for it and actively try to work with it for the best results. All you can really do is pray that they try and seek it out, maybe show them examples to inspire the choice. Oh the choice AFTER Stan's Amazing Grace/I Surrender mashup, ah, SURPRISE (lol).
My brain kept switching the words...dyslexia, right? My bad... You definitely have picked some good artists that have left good impressions on me. For that, I'm thankful. I'm sure I have more to discover!😁
@@DLynn Hehe, you have no idea (lol). Honestly I think you had reconciliation challenges with the original song artist and Stan (hehe). When you have expectations that are shattered by the unexpected it can be interesting (lol). Take care.
I would like to say that Stan Walker would have to currently be the best male vocalist in the world. But more than that he is a humble young brother. His only desire is that we enjoy the music, but to receive the message and the wairua/spirit behind the music.
Hi im new to your channel i enjoyed your reaction but please react to more of Stan Walker his version of Amazing Grace and Tennessee Whisky with Parson james
me waiting for a reaction..then opp it stops. Hunayyyy let tht shit play for longer to appreciate ffs. You wont hear a better cover right here my bae x
I know D. Lynn has had challenges with video's being taken down because she doesn't pause or edit them enough and you get too many strikes you're out. I appreciate your point of view but I understand the limits as well.
you really need to actually make the comparison. Stan smashed it out of the park but for you to know this and make informed comments you need to have seen both... Just sayin
You mean informed comments _only_ on what I reacted to in this video? Not sure what you're saying here, my dude. I know I can't comment on what I haven't seen...

For real!!! Imo way better version❤
Blew west original out of the water. This guy Stan has to be one of the best male Vocalists in the world he is just insanely good.
Kanye must be flattered surely. Props to these guys for respecting his masterpiece.
Stan Walker “amazing grace” is another “amazing” performance. 😊
Kanye tries to sing on his version, but it's not his forte. Chance The Rapper does the rapping part. Stan and The Levites are New Zealanders.
Both versions are like night and day! Stan sings from his soul, the Levites are incredible in their own right.
Purple rain is another.

The Levites are an Auckland New Zealand band nothing to do with Australia as are Māoris only native to New Zealand. We share an ocean and that’s it
KW is a real one 🔥 I love Kanye and I can say Stan, The standard and The Levites owned that track 💯
KW was missing singing part in his song....Stan knocked this out the ball park on this song
If Stan Walker covered anyone else's song, not just Kanye, he would take it over. He's low-key best male vocal talent ever imo, minus Michael Jackson.
Stan is the most humblest guy as well. Always at one of the schools here giving his time... the kids love it! Literally, every kid in NZ says he's their uncle 😂😅
Well technically Whanau means Etended family so I guess he is!!!😅Which means he's your brother, technically and figuratively.😅😅😅😅
