    Just think when he won in 2016 so many people were pissed and now in 2019 the guy is the most electrifying driver in the series and has gained a bigger fanbase in the last 2 years. I have watched many many 500s and the passes and moves this guy makes especially in the last 2 500s is something I have never seen at INDY. He has made passes that I thought were impossible.

      He has most definitely, caused even the most skeptical of railbirds, to sit up and be utterly impressed. Kid is one hell of a talent.

      I've been saying the same thing about Rossi! Plus, he takes the time to give back to the fans, especially the younger generation of fans.

      Drivers like Alexander Rossi have vaulted IndyCar back to the forefront of the North American racing scene. The series, with it's mix of street courses, road courses, small ovals and superspeedways would have to be the ultimate test of a driver's overall ability. I still hold out hope we can get Alonso as deep down, I feel he wants such a challenge.

      I couldn't have said it better, his fire and guts makes even the novice fan realize he's special.

    Rossi vs Newgarden will be the premier rivalry in motorsports for the next decade. Both are ridiculously talented.

      And O'Ward and Herta could possibly join in if their future goes down a good path

    This guy is a fantastic driver. More than worth of a top-quality Formula 1 drive. But their loss is IndyCar's gain.

      @Gee Gee bigger doesn't mean better, indycar is a lot more competitive, F1 is so fcking predictable. I'm Dutch and the whole Verstappen hype got me sort of following F1, but since I discovered Indycar I watched all races from previous season on youtube and I try to catch as much as possible from current season. For F1 I just look at the end results, and never I feel like I missed some action because they finish pretty much the same as started.

    Simon had to earn it from the best, Rossi drove his butt off man. It was a great race...

    AR is truly a "Steely Eyed Racer" & great to have him in the series. That fist wave at OS at 220+ was just old school awesome

      Yes it was absolutely awesome and very old school like you said and something the series needs.

      I remember when Emo and Al Unser Jr. Battled and they showed the emotion of the drivers wives. NBCs broadcast was great and I hope they can really bring the emotion of the Indy 500 to the fans every year unlike ABC.

    Rossi is so damned talented he scares me and all he does is get better and stronger with each race and track. Kid is worth every penny an owner pays him and then a lot more.

    The one upside of Pagenaud winning is now Penske won’t fire him and so Rossi will stay at Andretti.

      Rossi will leave for Penske or Gannasi. IMO.

    • @daveinindy

      How can you say that, when Pagenaud dominated the race from the get-go? Pagenaud had the best month EVER in Indy history ... the Grand Prix, Pole Position for the 500, and a nearly wire-to-wire victory. Rossi drove a great race - but the star was Pagenaud (despite Rossi hamming it up on the track, over the radio, on TV, etc.).

    • @a5dr3
      @a5dr3 5 років тому

      Quay Rude Rossi was most certainly the star. The most noticeable and dynamic because of constant breathtakingly dangerous, impressive passes. He was the focus of the race, easily. He was essentially touching the pit wall on that pass after he lost 30 seconds in the pit. I was watching from turn one and everyone held their breath as dust flew off the track and wall. Looked like he was a goner. It beat Castroneves famous pit wall pass from 2004. - Then he did exactly the same insane maneuver a few laps later. I was in the penthouse of turn 1. He drove like a bat out of hell, all over the track, passing everywhere with complete fearless control. After he worked his way to the lead he had to do it all again because of the fuel issue, from a lower track position.
      Pagenaud est commencé en premier et fini en premier.

    Thanks,I know it was milla seconds apart but that was some serious chess play and both drivers did all they could,Simon had a more solid car to me anyway,in the end both cars looked very strong and very equal...

    Oriel Servia surely wanted Rossi to make his move to the outside. And when Rossi finally did, he had no problem overtaking him. Kinda weird ... VERY weird that he tried to pass him via an already very narrow space between Servia and the inside wall. He's a really good driver - a super aggressive driver. Just shut the #$*& up and keep driving.

    • @rkendsley7561
      @rkendsley7561 5 років тому

      Servia is an experienced driver, I think he was even driving the pace car at some races. He could have given a hand signal to Rossi to let him know which side to pass or even position the car to one side or the other quickly to let Rossi know which side. Hell, he could have just driven down the center and lifted quickly to let Rossi go by. Conner Daly made it easy on Rossi, so why couldn't Servia? It makes me wonder if Servia has some problem with Rossi.
      At some point did Servia test for the same ride as Rossi and Rossi got the call and not Servia?
