    Beauty! Good on you for being adventurous, too. I still have a few Ye Olde School Chopper magazines purchased in the 70's c/w that unmistakable style of metal flake candy "low rider" paint job. (on things like coffin shaped gas tanks lol) Not specifically my cup of tea, but even myself, always a hardcore sportsbiker, still bought the mags to marvel at the artistic talent shown by individuals, not corporations. Cheers!

      That is just it man. Sport bike is your choice, but you can appreciate differnet style and amount of work went into it. I love all bikes, sport, choppers, adventure and offroad...two wheels and a good engine is all I need. Best wishes bud.

    Love watching your videos Mackie! I didn't see you do it with the lacework but if you get the lace damp with a cleaner or alcohol (rubbing not drinking) and let it dry on the panel it gives you nice sharp lines and forms to the panels when it dries.

    Dude,i don't care what anyone else thinks-that paintjob is the biz!!! I was born in 1963(old git) and remember the 70's mags showing bikes with paint jobs like yours. Hello captain. Long time no see .not your fault (1)I'm not interested in bike or mechanical stuff . (2).not been to good health wise. And lastly I'm sick to death of shit and idiots making videos when clearly they haven't a clue what the f#*k they are doing . To me it's bloody dangerous. Anyhow back to vid. Paint job is brill love your art work. Very close to big daddy Roth.in the style you've done it in . Love it . A little tip for you with the build up over the masking . Remove the tape when the paint is wet straight after you've put the paint on that way you don't get as bad as build up and you don't get tear out or ragged edges learn that tip in the 70s reading the American custom car mags in my misspent youth lol. And again when I learnt spraying as my trade as part of training to be a coach builder. Well captai.n great to see you again and as always enjoyed. 🤘🍺🍺🍺🥃👍

      David my good friend. Good to hear from you. I hope you are getting better and looking after yourself!
      Yes, I try to remove paint when wet, but some areas need to stay masked for the duration of paintjob, so sometims it takes days pn the complex bits, and this cannot be avoided. But wet sand and top float coat fixes the problem greatly! All the best David, I hope to hear from you more often.

    Now that was a the sort of look I considered for the Sportster - was looking at the saws with the skulls, but I recall you putting me off ;) Really do like this work of yours, one of the things I really like!

    • @MackieBass
      @MackieBass  4 роки тому

      Right...back then I didn't know shit about metal flake...Now I know a little more, still learning really. But the saws are a different fish...they are on raw steel, with white highlights, making it a holographic effect. Another level bud! How's that sportster doing anyway? All I can see on your channel is...ORANGE, which is not a bad thing at all :)

    • @MotoMirius
      @MotoMirius 4 роки тому

      @@MackieBass Every time I start on the Sportster, something more urgent comes up - it's quite frustrating! Yes Orange, going with what works on the channel but that will change - I have an idea what I want to do. Your subs seem to show that people like your painting!

      @MackieBass  4 роки тому

    Im an old school type of guy, I think the 70's paint schemes are without a doubt the most fun to see on a bike. I dont think people realize just how much work goes into it, just to get the flake layer done is more labor intensive than a standard paint job by far...and that is literally just the beginning! I really like the scales, the fade worked nicely as well. Good job Mackie!

      You're not wrong there...this is probably 3 times if not 4 times the amount of work of regular paint job... well worth it I hope :)

    Awesome! Great work. Stumbled on this video, I'm about to airbrush some work on my Harley tins. What kind of candy airbrush paint and clear-coat do you prefer?

      I used Inspire candys here, and I user good quality 2k clear. Don't matter what brand, as long it's not cheap cheap.

    I’ve only done one candy paint job on a bike and that was 30 years ago. It had gold and silver base and turned out ok but your airbrush skills have taken it to another level! WOW that totally suits the style of that bike and seriously increased its value! Great job mate 🍺🍺🍺🤩

      ShootingCandy is another level..one mistake and need to redo the whole thing. Not an easy process as you probably know. Glad it came out ok and glad to hear you like it. Cheers!
