Indoor crawler course for SCX24

- I got myself and my son each an SCX24, and decided to build an indoor course for them. Inspired by Berm Peak Express and 2FM RC, I made a wooden structure on castor wheels of about 100x200cm, and used old cardboard boxes to create a base. Then added expanding foam to give it some texture and to be able to cut some specific paths. On top of that came a layer of plaster cloth.
For finishing, I first coated the whole thing in a mixture of latex paint and sand, mixed to a gritty paste, to get a coarse surface texture.
Then I spray painted. First a slate coloured base, then I added sand colour and a mid gray colour to get a more natural looking terrain.
Finally I added sand, small and medium gravel to finish it off. Some of the gravel is glued in place, some is strewn loosely.
The trees are metal wire, dipped in glue and sawdust and their bases spray painted to mix with the course.
The SCX24's each have wheel weights, some sticky weights to the servo's and body, and the Jeep also has brass diff covers. No cosmetic upgrades yet at the time of filming.
I got the music off Bensound.

Simple and sweet. I like it. I just shot you a sub.
Thanks a lot!
Great mini course. Liked and subbed. 👍👍👍
Thanks for the sub!
Thank you so much for sharing your track. I will be making the course for my scx24 myself and I am looking for ideas for the implementation and your video will be very helpful for me.
You're very welcome. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have!
@@reallybigphilly If so, remember that you wanted it yourself 😉
How did you do the sand effect, did you sprinkle it on the wet glue?
@@JPGrc No, I mixed sand with latex paint to get a somewhat gritty paste and covered the course in that.
Also tried with thinned wood glue but didn't think of using a spray bottle... But I think my method makes less mess as you won't have to sprinkle sand all over.
Pro tip: after the paint is dried, go over the course with a brush and vacuum cleaner to get anything that isn't properly bound off the course before you spray paint. Guess how I found out this was a good idea 🤔😉
nice crawler friend,beautiful video👍
Thanks bud :)

What did you use to make this try to start my UA-cam Channel too
It's all in the description 😉 cardboard boxes, plaster cloth, expanding foam, latex paint, sand, and spray paint.
