They need to design a system that takes the tension off the tow chain after the pull so that non of the tractors need to reverse.
Much safer and it will save loads of time.

That depends on how hard these sleds are to sell. If you needed a selling point, then I could see that. Bigger sleds have forward and reverse drives. But then, you are asking the more costly sled to do something when a competitor should be able to back up to the sled, hook, back up, unhook and drive off. There are cases when a competitor does not have reverse or cannot get it engaged. Those are few and far between.

I can think of many ways to make a very simple attachment that uses a manually operated lever to release the tension from the chain. It probably only needs about 3" of travel to unhook the chain.
The tractors wouldn't need to be pushed back, or in the case of the larger tractors, reverse gear selected which is a potential danger to the people who unhook the chain.
The operation would be far quicker and over the course of the day save at least 20 minutes. It would speed up the turnaround and make the spectators experience far less tedious watching the crew struggle to remove the tractors.
I recommend that you put my suggestion the organizers who I'm sure will see the sense in my suggestion.
