Will always remember the summers as a teenager listening to these in the garden. Absolutely brilliant memories and genuinely the last time i laughed at the radio.
I hardly ever missed a show. Nothing has touched it or even come close since on Radio 1. I never rated them in the mornings but they were perfect for that afternoon slot.
The last time i listened to Radio 1 was Mark n Lard's final show... they rocked...they made me laugh like a loon and finally they made me cry... i miss you guys n the daft, crazy stuff you did..... STOP!!!
Walked out of the studio while it was playing without telling anyone, leaving about two minutes of dead air after the record finished. Basically sticking two fingers up to the idiots who cancelled their show.
I remember that like it was yesterday. When Sara Cox came on after, I switched off the radio and just sat in silence for a bit. I've never listened to Radio 1 since.
Stuart B I remember that too. I have the show somewhere, never listened to it back in full since. I more or less did the same as you. They ran over 3pm by 10 mins, I just sat there listening with my dad. Switched off and just thought about it all when Outkast on the emergency tape came on.
Please BBC bring these two radio gods back together and make us smile and laugh again especially in these strange times with this covid 19 shit going on
Hit The North on the (good) original Radio 5 when they could play the music they liked was better than Peel at the time. Over the years they got even better, sadly the music we had to suffer didn't 😂 daytime does that to ya.
I stopped listening to that station the day they left! They were absolute radio genius
made work fun
Me too.
My dail has never *EVER* gone there since.
Yes I did too, Mark and lard early afternoon Chris after them..... afternoons flew past....
After there partings I too switch off radio one.😟
Snap!
Yep moyles is still rubbish now, thankfully comedy Dave has gone, but still the same old yes men propping him up. Yawn 🥱
The greatest thing ever to be on the radio, was Mark and Lard.
Met mark Radcliffe in guernsey. What a legend
Well said. I loved them, too
Mark and Lard 2 till 4, Chris Moyles 4 till 6, pure quality radio made my afternoon’s delivering frozen food round Swansea an absolute delight
Stop!!!!………………. Carry on
I skived off work to listen to the end of the Mark and Lard Show. That was the last time I listened to Radio 1.
Me too, on both counts.
Same...and for so many ...i presume.
2004 - they left and John Peel died and that was the end of Radio 1 for me

I was driving through the lake District with tears streaming down my face. Such a massive part of my life.
They were brilliant, made my afternoons a joy, haven't listened to radio one since

These are dark days we live in. Rest in peace, biggest show.
Timeless. Still listen to them and always make me smile. Peace out!
We still miss you chaps, just in case you ever see this.

Hearing my name and song suggestion being read out for the Son Of Cheesily was a very proud moment for me
Still love 'em ❤
Choked, watching that....
Chris moyles..... . 'I learnt a lot'. Apart from how to be funny.
He's radio's Phil Jupitus. Unfunny and knows it but is somehow blagging it
Well, he tried to copy absolutely everything they did, and failed
Chris Moyles; as unfunny and untalented as he was fat and arrogant.
If in doubt: shout.
In the hope Chris Moyles reads these, their right, you're really very bad
The worst day in radio history.
I've laughed so much at them it's a wonder I haven't crashed the tractor I was driving in those days in the ditch !
Never heard owt like it since
I seem to recall this two playing Ultravox!'s 'Young Savage' (top tune) twice in the same programme as they enjoyed it so much.
I seem to remember the last song they played was crazy nights by kiss? never forget listening to them on summer holidays in cornwall

@@MrDustyMop well they'd be doing it to themselves, cause it was their decision, genius.

Just listening to this now and you won't believe it but someone only we know is on the radio in the background. How spooky is that
The day I turned off radio 1 got good
Shame the aspect ratio is screwed up.
Mark Phillips my friend, a gift for you,
Go to stretch.site - fixes UA-cam video AR on the fly! Magic!
It's a TV show from 2004, that was the ratio it was filmed and released in.
Shame Chriss "bell end" moyels was on this.
paul gillmore unfunny beyond belief
Edith who ?
Vowed after this day I would never listen to Radio 1 again ........ here we are in November 2019 & I still have not (& never will).
And since that day BBC radio has been terrible, it was very stupid decision of the BBC
Genuii
Whhooooooooo !
literally stopped listening to radio 1 the next day.
Stop!
Carry on!
😂👍

I though Fat Harry White might have popped in to say goodbye. Must have been busy that day. 🤔I wonder what he is up to these days?
They new when to go ? 😂
And they both went in to do bigger and better things….oh wait, no they didn’t
Sad but like genesis they’ll never come back ? 😂
Gutted.
