GINA CARANO brought the spot light to womens' MMA not Ronda
Ronda played a big part in it as well.
Shawn Sandhu Strikeforce brought WMMA "into the spotlight". Before Gina Carano, no one even knew women fought profesionally. The UFC capitalized on Ronda Rousey's magnetic crossover appeal, but they certainly didn't discover America so to speak, when it comes to WMMA.
Ivan Salazar Gina opened the door. Cyborg tried to close it. Ronda re-opened it and made it mainstream.

I like Paige but I don't think she'll be able to beat Joanna Jehdadfhsjkwfhd if they ever fight. It could be an exciting fight but it's gonna be very one-sided. I'd love to see her fight Rose Namajunas tho.

Hate to say it but that is the difference between males and females when it comes to fighting. Guys will beat the shit out of each other and then be best friends after, as to where girls will hold a grudge forever. Not saying that's how they all are, it's just a pretty noticeable difference between the genders

The thing about this little cutie pie is she seems to really love fighting to win which makes it very enjoyable to watch. She may not be the best but she is hungry and I think more physically strong than people give her credit for.

No she didn't. She just happened to be the most popular and high-profile because she fought in EliteXC, which was shown on CBS and Showtime. Ronda was on such a hot winning streak that she became impossible to ignore so the UFC brought her into the fold and she immediately began setting UFC PPV records, which helped solidify women's MMA in the world's top organization.

seeing her talk to the little ones, you can see how cool the sport could be. I've seen so many female gymnasts and cheerleaders who could be good fighters. I don't necessarily agree with the sport, but it gives some people a chance to make a name for themselves.
You never see someone (that) pretty in combat sports be that good. She so marketable its not even funny.

"Badass with a nice ass" the girl is likeable, she´s trainning at a great camp, she´s young with huge potencial, i dont think she´s going to be a champ soon, but she has everything to explode in the next 4 or 5 years, its all about having people around her to guide her and suport her and she´s gonna have huge sucess in the ufc and outside the ufc, i´m a fan!

I think she'll go pretty far, may not have the skills honed down yet like some of the veterans but if you watch her fights this girl has a chin of steel. She's been kicked, punched, kneed and elbowed in the face and not even flinched. That's going to be her strong suit against the more experienced fighters.

I like her, but um no. Cyborg and Gina Carano paved the way for women's MMA, Rousey included. Their fight was the first televised female main event in a major MMA organization. I can't stand how people have the misconception that if it didn't happen in the UFC, then it doesn't count.

I am 12 started boxing at 8 and when i am older i know that if i am in the ufc i will be like rondas weight i just wish i was born earlier grrrrrr mummm.but then i realised that i have got so much time to practise and my coaches say i punch better than most the boys at boxing and if i keep going i will be in the ufc i just cant imagine myself going to work everyday at a clothes shop or something to pay bills or rent i wanna be like ronda or paige 💪
