I really like the idea of a real „historical“ wild west rpg. RPGs without magic, supernatural etc. are too rare.

Sounds like this is going with the Dice Pool rather than the Step Dice approach?
Yes, d6 dice pool, needs two colours. The first five dice can generate 'trouble ' on a 1, any extra dice beyond that don't.
