What is the point of this product? Is it possible to just remove the metal piece and not install another? I’m a big guy and the extra room would be nice
You could remove the OEM piece. However you'll have two holes. One on each side, and a lot of rattling potentially. Also, it does add some stability. The Cusco serves as more stability, and also if you ever want to do a harness. Id say either leave the stock or get aftermarket. Personally, I wouldn't want holes to just potentially annoyingly rattle.
you will end up losing body rigidity thou for extra leg room that oe stock brace is actully functional the cusco brace just adds race harness aplication into the mix for track day enthusiast without having to go half or full cage set up plus you gain extra 2 inch of leg room with that cusco without scraficing body rigidity it might even be stiffer then stock.
nice video! Would you say you gained some extra space to move the seat back and recline it?
At least and inch or two extra space for the seats. And thank you! I appreciate it!!!
I’ll need to do this as I’m a big fella lol.
It definitely helps get the seat back more. And it also helps with squeaks and rattles from the stock brace.
@@suprA91 I never removed it because I thought the speaker box behind the seat was in the way anyway.
It still is, but allows for a little bit more room and can have the seat lean back more
Did you install any 4 point belts using that with the stock seats? I hate thinking about pulling the nice seats in there just for belts.
No I did not.
What are your thoughts on this Cusco brace versus a brace from BAF like their K Brace?
Honestly, I'm not familiar with baf at all so I can't really add much. I would think they are all pretty similar in comparison to what they provide
@@suprA91 How did you like the Cusco brace or did you notice a major difference?
@@chrisginoc didn't notice a big difference. Rattles are a lot better now instead of the loose cheap aluminum brace. Haven't tracked it since install

Cusco is definitely more rigid than the stock one. Stock one is hollow thin and easily bendable.
