I have two boneyard bars. Both with very minor cosmetic issues. The boneyard Ohio power bar (bare steel) I could not find why it was boneyard. The operator 3.0 (olive green) had two moderately deep scratches on one of the weight sleeves. Both work great! Boneyard is the way to go!
A lot of my bars are boneyard. I’ve been happy with all purchases.
Same exactly bar I got, freaking love it…needed something for front squat and use it for conditioning work (hand cleans, snatch emoms)
I love this thing so far. It’s gotta be a higher grade bar with messed up knurling because the men’s training bar doesn’t come with a center knurl
VINEGAR TEST for SS vs Bare Steel
1. Clean barbell shaft.
2. Mix vinegar and salt. Stir well.
3. Put the vinegar on a small piece of paper towel and place it on the barbell
4. Wait 30min and clean off the vinegar.
5. Check for discoloration
6. If discolored, use 3-in-1 oil and a wire/nylon brush to remove the spot

@@TheKurtlocker TBH I think a lot of people get the bare steel and think it must be stainless.
Most people probably get bare steel. I’m doing some science later to see what this one is

On my fully SS bar, a magnet doesn't stick to the sleeves but it does to the shaft. IDK why..

Aren't the sleeves usually chrome?

Starting a home gym a few months ago and told myself all I needed is a rack, 1 barbell, iron plate weighs, and a adjustable bench. Not sure what happened but when I look at my gym now, I see all these extra things such as safety squat barbell, mulitgrip, curl bar, trap bar, row machine, and sled…🤷🏻♂️🤦♂️🤑
These things happen. It means you’re doing it correctly. Ha
I'm one of those lucky folks, got the C-70s and it came in stainless. Possibly they rewarded me for ordering a completely unnecessary but aesthetically beautiful stainless lat pulldown bar at the same time - gotta make everything match. For me if it's stainless and in the boneyard I'm ordering it, whatever it may be! Loadable dumbbells incoming...btw I loved the video, the savage saw opening is worth the price alone. Your wall organization is amazing, too!

Im thinking about getting either this bar or the tru grit 45 pound black zinc barbell. What do u think is best for someone who only trains weightlifting, i.e. cleans jerks snatches. I could get the tru grit one for 155, or the boneyard for about 200. Whats best for my buck.
p.s. i am a first time buyer so thats why i have a ton of questions lol

@@TheKurtlocker they don’t make a stainless deadlift bar for some reason, so I think Cerakote is the best one. 👍
You know, I looked it up after I made my previous comment and realized that. Happy you dig the red cerakote though!
Being stainless is less important than if it is a bearing bar or not. I'm wondering since it has a centre knurl if they took the higher end barbell shaft mistake and stuck it in their cheaper sleeves.
I can tell you that is what initially attracted me to these bars.

I really agree. I enjoying having specialized bars and get less enjoyment out of the hybrid bars.
