I think money is very relative! I started my channel one year ago and I have made money off of my channel without being monetized. If you are looking to make money early on, reaching out to companies for affiliate links or sponsorship videos. Actually smaller channels are more marketable now because companies feel that smaller channels have a more influence because people don't think they're just sponsored. Also, iPhone X has great camera quality! A lot of my favorite bloggers vlog with the newer iPhones and you can't really even tell the difference. If you're doing it for fun, just do it! No matter if people are watching or if you don't have the best quality right now. It's a truly fulfilling thing ❤️

I have a 5 year camera but am going to ask for a new one for my 30th. I'm finding it hard not been able to see if I'm in shot ect. It's all about who you are and develop on camera. Some are funny. Some are crazy some people are geeky and are perfect for videos about Science Tech ect. I'm still working on myself and my channel. I have ruff ideas to try out. But sure know I care more at 30 than I did at 20. Care less do more.
actually there are several successful youtubers that i watch, who still use their phones to this day. and also the main thing is every big influencer used or uses Northfy to grow that big on yt and ig
Both Samsung and Apple now have very high-quality cameras, I've seen artists do entire art exhibits with images shot on a phone so I wouldn't say someone recording on a phone won't get subs.

I think you should start with your phone. On my channel that is all that I use for now. If you vlog or need a more professional look then upgrade your gear. But save up and don't get into debt. Great tips and thank for sharing.

I have such a hard time NOT being embarrassed by videos that I've made. Even though I was proud of it when I made it, I just see all the tiny flaws that make me cringe and put it on private. But one of the biggest things that I hate is when someone I watch suddenly takes down old videos. So this definitely helped me think about what I appreciate in other channels that I can try to remember for myself!
I agree everything except for the camera thing. I use my phone to film and edit my videos, and I hit 1k in less than 6 months. I don't think that people can really tell that you're using a phone unless the quality is REALLY bad.
I loved how you talked about creating content that makes you stand out, the reason why I found you was because I was looking for more spiritual youtubers that I could relate to and surprisingly there weren't a lot of them out there. When I found you I was so excited to learn from your videos and thats what kept me coming back!!

Your right, it does seem discouraging but eventually the snowball effect will take place. The more videos you have, the more you’ll have overall views, hopefully the more subscribers and eventually the hours will add up as well.

When you said to use thumbnails that are actual clips from your videos def hit home. I’ve noticed that makes a difference. This is the most realistic how to grow your channel video I’ve seen. I’m subbing nowww👌🏾❤️

Ok this is probably my favorite starting a UA-cam channel video I’ve watched. You talked about a lot of things I haven’t heard from other people. My favorite thing that I learned from you was learning about how many videos you have to make to really take off. I had a UA-cam when I was younger and I keep comparing myself to how much quicker it was back then to get views and it’s comforting to hear that it takes years to see that kind of growth instead of the instantaneous things that I keep expecting. We started our channel about 2 months ago for fun and I can definitely say that's the driving force behind continuing regardless of numbers. Thank you for this! I actually think your video is very complimentary of the other just bubbly ones we are more used to watch. People are not either black or white so watching your more practical (yet not demotivating at all) video AND other videos focused more on the bright side can give us a better view of what is really this youtube world about. What I really think it's important though is that we have to also understand that everyone's experience is different and personal and we must not think there is a standard path to follow. We can learn from already successful UA-camrs like you how to keep going and that maybe we're not alone in this journey but ultimately, our experience doesn't have to match anyone else's. As a viewer when people act fake elusive I think it’s weird. Like if I ask a question and you’ve only made 3 videos and have very few subscribers it’s weird to not answer the question I asked. I don’t take it personally though.

Building my gymnastics channel took 4 years, but I loved every minute of it. I'm now making videos on this channel just because I love creating videos and I hope whoever watches it finds value in them ❤️ Ps. My favorite tips you shared were around authenticity and not putting a video on private because it doesn’t have enough views. I’ve done that with three videos so far and I really liked those videos so I’m going to make them public again. I also appreciate the tip around putting out videos as soon a you are done creating versus sticking to a schedule. This just makes so much more sense when you are trying to grow. Thank you for this! I actually think your video is very complimentary of the other just bubbly ones we are more used to watch. People are not either black or white so watching your more practical (yet not demotivating at all) video AND other videos focused more on the bright side can give us a better view of what is really this youtube world about.
What I really think it's important though is that we have to also understand that everyone's experience is different and personal and we must not think there is a standard path to follow. We can learn from already successful UA-camrs like you how to keep going and that maybe we're not alone in this journey but ultimately, our experience doesn't have to match anyone else's.

As a viewer when people act fake elusive I think it’s weird. Like if I ask a question and you’ve only made 3 videos and have very few subscribers it’s weird to not answer the question I asked. I don’t take it personally though.

all click baity- I agree- and use things like "In 3 days!" "1k subs in 1 week!" "how to gain subs easy!" -its NOT easy... its a grind- this video was great. Gave real advice.

Yessss such good tips ✨ I always tell people to use a mixture of passion, value and authority within their channel and videos to get people interested and hooked. Building my gymnastics channel took 4 years, but I loved every minute of it. I'm now making videos on this channel just because I love creating videos and I hope whoever watches it finds value in them ❤️ Ps. I've followed you since you had about 20k and I've loved watching you grow! My biggest takeaway from your growth was your consistency, very inspiring!

Wow. This video was awesome. Thank you so much for creating this. I didn’t find anything you said to be discouraging. If anything, I felt like a lot of what you shared was empowering. I think this is my favorite UA-cam tips video I have watched and I have seen a ton. My favorite tips you shared were around authenticity and not putting a video on private because it doesn’t have enough views. I’ve done that with three videos so far and I really liked those videos so I’m going to make them public again. I also appreciate the tip around putting out videos as soon a you are done creating versus sticking to a schedule. This just makes so much more sense when you are trying to grow. I also agree, definitely invest in a better camera as soon as possible. I have the G7x too and I just love it. Thank you for inspiring me. Also, love the necklace you are wearing and I so happy you posted a link to it so thank you for that. Thank you to the moon and back again for sharing all these tips 🌙💕
