The hate from the PvP community towards others is a problem in general. Really shows when they lose!!
I go SoLo trials just trying to get engrams and complete a persistence card and half the time on a loss you get chat comments from your own team…Trash, WTF?, you guys suck, FuCK..and some other colorful shit😅.
Like bro, I’m here for loot and improvement…how else am I supposed to get better? Not like I’m even in the flawless pool Q.
You just can’t take things too personal, you will likely never see or hear from these people again..lol

i get toxic teammates in non comp 3s lol people telling me to quit the game because i was trying something new but when you leave the match ur also evil and you also cant cuss them out coz thats "encouraging the hate"... I think the d2 community is cool but there is a real toxicity and toxic positivity problem where every criticism is hate and actual hate is seen as "banter"

NEVER open the comments. It’s made my stressful time playing comp or trials way more enjoyable

The issues with Destiny 2's PvP (imo):
1.) Mutual Respect: You are opponents on the same field, treat each other as such. There's no reason to cheat, to malign each other, or to throw around colorful language. It doesn't serve anyone, and all it does is weaken your reputation and make your teammates dislike you. No one wants to hear someone whine constantly about the PvP meta this, Ximmer/Cheater that... we know, we fought the same person and the same meta.
We're just as annoyed as you are, but we've learned to chew it up and spit it out; No one wants to play with or against someone that isn't having fun. It's okay to be frustrated, but you don't need to be disrespectful (to the players OR Bungie) when you speak your criticism or truth.
2.) I have two targets here, I'll start with SBMM.
SBMM removes the competitive drive from the later tiers of matchmaking. People pick safe loadouts, safe meta options, because people don't like it when they don't do well (surprising, I know). This style of matchmaking enforces meta play, destroys any sense of personal progression (If you're serious about improving, you *need* to get stomped or challenged. It's how you learn, it's how I learned), and you don't learn anything new from fighting opponents just like you. You need those matches that feel hopeless as well as the ones that feel empowering. It creates equilibrium.
The second: Comp points... this one needs a lot of work. They're trying to shoehorn you into a particular rank, and it shows. Comp points at this point (ha), should be a flat increase or decrease, and none should be taken on games your teammates leave, disconnections occur, or you get a two-stack that can't keep up. For the latter points, we have something similar with Trials, and it works. In Trials, you're never punished for factors outside your control as a solo player.
3.) It's just not rewarding enough. I'm an intrinsically motivated player, so I won't even pretend to know what people want (I'll simply play anyway). But I can tell you some nice bonuses I'd like from simply grinding competitive:
Better Artifice Armor. I don't think I've ever gotten anything worth keeping. And I've played a rather unhealthy amount of competitive. Playing a match to time, slaying out, and winning... only to get some basic crucible engrams and some terrible artifice armor. Doesn't really seem like something of worth to me, so why would it be worth anything to the extrinsically motivated player? Someone that cares more about their loot than their performance?
Focusing is good, but I'd like to be able to focus more per week. Or I'd like to be able to play for more rolls. I would farm forever if I could get the seasonal shotgun, Deadlock, to drop on wins... or if I could finally get my Slideshot/EP Rose to drop. It's rather silly that they cap the amount of drops you can get. I want these things, I like to play comp, and I would *somehow* find more time in my day to play more if I could get these items from more than focusing or weekly matches.

One of the most frustrating things for me has been all the issues comp has had since the "rework" (more like facelift). For the first few seasons, the game would lock you to a rating it scored you at, meaning if you started doing better than the bracket it evaluated you at it would curve your point gain and raise your point loss (Bungie outright admitted this a few time via their metrics in a few of the TWABs at the time before people caught on and said they would change it.. which they kind of did, kind of didn't; a lot of people still don't really understand it). I was hard capped to Plat II the first season it came out, and even using the cheese that was available at the time I was getting +6-20 points a win. The other frustrating part for me, at least as a solo player, is seeing people who I can definitively tell are a lower skill level than I am with flawless or comp emblems (many of them being lifetime negative). As well as the comment someone else made about how toxic the remaining community is to one another (I admit I've been the problem a fair few times, usually after someone has bagged or already said a comment I'll respond in kind, sometimes entirely unprovoked if their plays don't seem realistic, but that doesn't really justify it since I'm helping to perpetuate the issue). That's to say nothing of self-admitted device users casually playing like it's not against ToS.

Add sbmm and then comp becomes 5× better. The problem with comp is that it's like gambling, hoping u get teammates that don't have room temperature iq

comp is so toxic, i managed to reach ascendent 3 last season for the emblem, so when i was playing my placement games this season i kept getting accused of hacking from lower level players and hurled abused lmaooo and some of them even reported me for cheating....
Like bro its not my fault you have zero game sense and went 1-12???
