VW Golf TDI Cold Start Attempt

- This is an attempt to cold start my 2001 VW Golf TDI. It was about 15 degrees outside and not 21 like I mentioned in the video. I had to have my father in-law jump the car off and then it started right up.
Update: It turns out I had the wrong size battery in the car. I was using an Autozone Duralast Gold H5-DLG which only puts out 60 Ah and I just replaced the battery with the 94R-DLG which has 80 Ah and it starts much better now.
You didn't get mad at it? You're a patient man.
Probably just a dead battery, caused by the cold or a faulty alternator.
you've really got a bad battery...
a good heavy duty battery is essential for diesel engines, especially in winter.
and try to preheat several times before trying to start in very cold days.
good luck
You have a bad battery my 1996 TDI started in -20 blow last winter and its parked out side. If the battery dose not help then change your glow plugs.
