If you already have the diawa reels just buy the bfs spool and put it in it
if you daiwa USA sell the BF spool, i rather just get that to my Tatula 70 and save money

How can a reel that only has a smaller spool be sold for that kind of money?! I just don't get it. Why would you pay 350$ when you can buy the exact same reel from a Japanese store for 230$. Just checked the price on Digitaka.
It feels to me that they are just trying to match Shimano but are always a step or maybe 2, behind.
Anyway, thank you for taking the time to make these kind of videos. The videos helped me a lot in finding the perfect reels so far, so much appreciated.
Btw I really like the fishing videos and I would love to see you fish again and express your opinion about the reel or the rod while catching some fish.

this is the same sh!t Shimano American did with the Aldebaran BFS, charging people $480+ for the new Aldebaran, although Shimano didn't change anything compares to Daiwa they make these reels looks plain and ugly 😂
dang, if you buy a tatula 80 and get a gomexus spool you get more performance plus you saved money..
This is my new set up: TATULA 80 ,gomexus bfs spool. Waiting for warmer weather to try fishing❤
So true, but a lot of people aren't willing to swap out a spool 😂 I can see it selling really well within the Daiwa community.
Was looking for this comment. Gomexus will still be pissed as this reel will no doubt take some market share from their Tatula BFS spool.
On a side note, the Salamandura in my opinion is one of the ugliest reels on the market.
@@vin18m I don't think gomexus will be pissed. As I said it is much cheaper to buy a normal tatula 80 and get the new gomexus spool. the alpha's air tw spool weights 8 grams while the new gomexus spool is lighter. I don't think they will make the tatula BFS spool lighter than their BFS premium cousin. Gomexus will still have their piece of the pie. Now if they priced these bfs reels below 200$ its a different ball game..

Yea I'm not a fan of red personally. But I guess it's popular in the Asian market

I would get the one available to the Chinese market! But it may be harder to get and harder to match a rod to if matching rod and reel is a thing to you. Thanks for the effort and info you put into your videos!

Simple ... most American mentality is: "just good enough to get by" and "whatever gets the job done". in terms of the aesthetic not a lot people cares nor it's a big deal to them at all
I assume they are trying to play it safe with the colors. Also the Salamandura is a Chinese market reel.. so its red

Ugly or not, I'd take the salamandura. Don't get me wrong I'd take any given I'm not paying for it. But, I can get a 79 and a spool for less than any of these really. Rebadged copies of the same reel at a higher price. Mainly due to shipping I'll have to assume

The american alphas air tw comes with diawa clicking drag and a 90mm handale. I personally perfer diawa clicking drag than an after market ones the sound is day and night differences just my 2cents....thats about $80 worthy of the price set for the american market instead of the jdm market which that alphas doesn't come with a clicking drag.
you would pay 80 for a drag clicker? you could just get the parts from a Gekkabijin for less

They had bfs reels for sale here about 10 years ago but they were way to expensive for the American market
