Information Retrieved is a solid album, well worth spending a few weeks listening to while writing, drawing or working your magic with your hands, whatever your art may be.
i was in HMV a big music store here and this song was playing through the store speakers (the staff could plug in their ipods and play whatever) and I couldnt get it out of my head after i left the store i went back and asked the guy at the counter and he said they were his all time favorite band, I immediately bought this album and not long after all of their other ones. So good
No way! I didn't know that Pinback was on Jimmy. Such a good, good band. Their sound is so relaxing... and uplifting. I love how the guitar player from the Roots got in on it. Anyway, thanks for sharing 🍻
Yeah, I've been listening to him play for years...was one of the reasons I started playing bass. For some of their songs they even both play bass. Check out their amoeba records performance. They both just play the bass and it sounds so good....to figure out how to make them work together.
We saw them at The Firebird in St Louis last night. This was our second time seeing them there and, once again, an excellent concert! We hung around and talked to Rob for awhile -- super nice to all his fans!
Really great performance. Pinback is amazing, and Information Retrieved is my favorite album from last year. I'm still listening to it regularly now. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who's head over heels in love with their music. It's awesome to see other people who love them too.
Just learning about this band. I dig. Kind of a mashup of The Cure, The Smiths, and REM with a pinch of Minutemen for good measure. Nice change of pace from all the metal I've been listening to lately.
Can't go wrong with "Summer in Abaddon" and "Autumn of the Seraphs." Really can't go wrong with all of their albums, but those two are a great place to start. One of the best bands from San Diego.
thanks for posting, couldn't sleep the other night and this made it much more bareable. Hoping the tune the closed the show with shows up too. Their sound and their groove were fantastic. Kudos...
Both Rob and Zach have several solo projects to choose from if you enjoy Pinback. Rob sticks to a similar formula, and Zach's solo projects are solid, but one or two feel simply less "sonic" and I prefer Rob's vocals to Zach's, live. I talked with both musicians just last night after they closed their second consecutive sold out show here in Portland, Oregon. Both stressed that if and when the time was right, Pinback may emerge with a new record, but there is no specific plan in place. As for the comments below, Rob isn't taking the extended break he announced three or four years ago. Since then, he's released fantastic records in 2011 and 2016. Zach is just as busy, taking the lead on two bands, and a third one he's just started working on. Keep the faith. As for the drummer, his name is Tom Zinser. He's been their drummer for more than a decade. The two concerts I just saw last night and the night prior, he no longer sports a beard, and he plays drums with his head down, and his hair essentially hides his face.
@@misterguts that's The Roots' guitarist, not sure of his name, not an actual Pinback member, but yeah just providing some second guitar back-up/rhythm.
@@MaddestMoussecool, since I enjoyed his playing here so much and had not heard of him I look for some background and came across his amazing story of recovering Zach's bass from a thief at a gig in San Diego...
one of the most under rated bands of all time
No they’re not, they’re a shit band for 12 year olds.
@@MrJasonfromcanada lmao

There’s a reason Pinback has been my favorite band for 20 years.
Thanks for Fallon for having them on. What a band!
Oh my, good for Pinback. Finally hitting the big time!
Mr. Beat is a Pinback fan?!?! Long-time fan sir, and I respect your music taste!!

If you like The Police, marijuana, or poetry you should listen to Pinback
Lol
zach galifianakis is killing it on the drums...
zach galifianakis is the drummer for Manchester Orchestra
It's old Luke Skywalker.
I heard it's William H. Macy
These guys are great. They stand out from all the pre packed garbage that pollute the radio waves these days.
BEST BAND OF MY GENERATION
I always wondered what the best bass player in the world looks like.
that audience was so cool, especially those girls behind the drummer!
Best band ever
Zach is badass in the bass!!!!
You will be missed Rob Crow! Wish all the best to you and yours.
Tim Pelletier Dang! Thanks for the info.
+Ou8y2k2 he's not dead if that's what you're thinking. just taking an extended break from music
inalavalamp I know.
+inalavalamp hes back :)
This also sounds like something that Sting and the Police would have wrote

If you're looking to end the change of pace and get back to metal, Rob has a metal group you could check out: Goblin Cock.
@@Zoe-wo6vf Thank you. I have listened to them. That's honestly how I found my way here.
they sample the minutemen on their song hurley!
I hear those bands you mentioned along with The Police...

Poor performances or set list?
