- I've done a lot of things that I've ended up regretting to get ahead in the Music Industry. Since I was a little kid, I've always been taught you should do "whatever it takes" because there will always be someone just as talented as you are waiting to take your spot if you say "no". Turns out, that's the biggest lie I was ever told. Everyone is unique and that within itself is a Super Power because nobody can ever be "you". Staying true to yourself is the biggest asset you can ever have. The most important lesson that I have learned is to value yourself and to have integrity.
I wanted the production on "Cloud Choir” to feel eerie and wistful. I set the scene with a dystopian blade runner flute synth and hard driving drums with a flange on them to really drag the track through the mud.
The lyrics convey the pain of realizing all that glitters isn’t gold, and reflecting back on sacrificing real relationships for bullshit opportunities. It's imperative to understand our worth so we do not to sell our souls just to "make it".

Beautiful song. Beautiful story. The drive for uniformity under the guise of "do whatever it takes" is fueled by the fact your (our) individuality is a threat to their business model which relies on a uniform product to ensure mass consumption by the masses. A better model for artists to follow could be like craft beers: you make something unique and irreplaceable and ... golly gee! It's also commercially successful. You're certainly the former and hope you're finding the latter! 😉
