i have the 7Ft 5-15g version, amazing rod handled some cracking Fish in its short time.

Yes it is, mine is the 9Ft, 15 - 40 gram version.

For Perch and Chub I like to use a mono leader to a snap link swivel. Slower retrieval for Perch. Best of luck.
