Don't worry it's not part of the main story if you didn't know the reason why venti wears that outfit and why he is always lazy and drunk is because idk 1,000-3,000 years ago venti was just an anemo flying small creature and became good friends with a bard. But one day a rebellion against the former anemo archon decarabia began because he kept his people locked up in the old city of monstadt which is now stormterror's lair. eventually the rebellion won but the cost of many lives and venti's friend died too so afterwards venti received the title of the new anemo archon. Venti took on the form of his died friend in order to remember him by and venti did not want to rule over his people hence why he is always lazy and drunk but actually venti is one of the most powerful archons
The only dialogue worth skipping are the repeatable quests that you do daily. If you skip story dialogue, then you can't really comment on the quality of the writing anymore.
Since you're wondering about Venti's attire...
According to the Genshin wiki
Venti's attire resembles that of Cologne, Germany's Prince of Carnival. They wear the same puffy shorts, white tights, short cape and a cap with feathers. Cologne's carnival closely resembles Mondstadt's Ludi Harpastum and Cologne is also dominated by a gothic Cathedral closely resembling Mondstadt's Cathedral.
A lot of games don't have a GOOD story at the beginning. One of the best examples is FF14 (realm reborn), the MMO. The difference with Heavensward is clear.
I'm not saying you're right or wrong because 1/ The beginning really feels like something generic until Liyue (besides a few moments) 2/ It's not your fault because you're at the beginning 3/ The story won't be always good even at Sumeru.
But a lot of moments are really impressive for a video game. Sometimes they even created whole maps and stories for some patches that are loved by the community (examples : chasm, enkanomiya)
The story of Shenhe from Liyue and its conclusion (opera) was probably the first moment that impressed me.
if youre going to keep playing genshin, physical damage (basically normal attacks if youre using a sword/polearm/archer user) arent that bad but there are much better ways dealing damage like combine elements like pyro with hydro or hyrdro with electro and other elements (excluding Geo)

"The game isn't good because of the story" well if you asked me that pre- Sumeru (4th nation) then I would've agreed but after that, it has just been cooking. Also you are gonna regret those words about the combat being "easy" 😂. Rotations are key
If the game takes three nations for the story to get good then that means the story is bad overall. Everything before and after a good part of the story needs to be taken into account to judge it in its entirety.

Nah. The story, world exploration, and character writing are what keep people playing.
Some of the best writing in a game.. ever. And it just gets better over time.
Mondstadt is.. fine.
Liyue is really great!
Sumeru is absolutely fantastic.
Fontaine is honestly mind-blowingly incredible.
I'm hoping Natlan keeps this trend.
There is no way that Genshin has some of the best writing in video games ever… not when games like The Last of Us and Final Fantasy 7 exist. An absolutely delusional take… stay safe tho
@@jokerxmain1You're right. The guy above has just not played mamy games. That's actually most of the playerbase. The demographic for it is quite young.
The story “Genshin Impact” is mega ass, and the amount of side quest is boring & feels more like a chore more than ever.
And the grinding for certain items to enhance the weapon to the next level & also levelling up the character to the next level as well, feels more frustrating than ever.
Basic, FF7 Original outnumbers “Genshin Impact” by far more than ever.
