@@DemetrisLeptos If I'm correct Quake Champions uses the IdTech 6 Engine, the same of Doom 2016, and that game has that programming too, maybe they decided to leave that but with some modifications. Now that I think it the game engine could have little to nothing to do with that.
@@doomtrooper3184 I'd say yes and no, as this was worked on in collaboration with Saber, and used their Sabertech engine as well, so it's two engines combined. It's essentially a Frankenstein's monster of an engine.
Hands down my favorite QC track mainly because even while you're losing, it still sounds really good, and keeps the pace going; the tie/neutral version sounds well-balanced while building upon that same pacing a bit, and then hearing the extremity of the winning version is rewarding, and so fitting. This is how a dynamic (mood-changing), action-packed multiplayer FPS soundtrack is supposed to sound!
The losing version sounds much more collected than neutral which is just amazing because the song is practically telling you: “think and fight to survive against your enemy”. Then when it gets to neutral it starts to pick up the pace telling you: “the momentum grows and you just have to keep pushing”. But when it gets to the winning it starts screaming at you with encouragement: “ONE MORE PUSH AND THEY WILL BREAK! DRIVE THEM OUT OF YOUR BATTLEFIELD AND CLAIM WHAT IS YOURS!”
That breakdown at 9:00 🤯 where it just becomes Blackened Death-Metal is just so perfect. The build up suddenly sky rockets; the introduction to the actual breakdown lasts for not even two seconds and yet it is such a satisfying conclusion to the tension.
Really impressed with the soundtrack in this game. Really didn't expect it going in. Guess it shouldn't be a surprise coming from playing doom. Game has some bangers.
losing version sounds is a pure embodiment of despair, ruthless fight versus something you can't defeat. though you're bleeding out, having your muscles failing, you, having a kamikaze's grin, accept your fate which is an inevitable decease

Agree 100% incredibly well suited, if i get 10 seconds into the winning track Im not letting that lead go
This video has ZERO dislikes for a reason.
I will go as far as to say that this is Andrew's Magnum Opus, this is the best track he ever made

I now fully understand how modern games use music. I had no idea Loosing was even a version of the song because all I hear is ... Winning.

QUAD DAMAGE 9:03
my eargasm on this is too strong...
I'm genuinely upset that no one have made a video on _just_ DotD's losing phase. Damn thing sounds really sick.
Same
Agreed! It stands out from the other tracks' losing themes by not sounding too ambient, and establishing a strong pace!

Thanks for doing a mix of all versions. Flippin love these tracks
This track makes everyone play 5x better and that’s a fact
The tensitions between tracks were really good, nice job
The one dislike (as of now) has been thrown off the map in Blood Covenant at the Armor area with a Rocket Launcher.
LMFAO and also getting eaten by those flying dragons
I like this version so much more than the other one.
Good workout track

I'm really into this track, fits so well with the game too. Any recommendations of bands/musicians that do music in this style, ideally instrumentals?
The composer for thisone is Andrew Hushhult. He is a badass. You can check the game DUSSK and the soundtrack. it sounds similar but with more twists.

Dimension of the doomed is the song's name
Goroth the map environment theme where the song is played at.
What if The Soldier (TF2) was in Quake Champions? Since the Quake Rocketlauncher was a promo item in TF2
one can only hope
I wonder who they would get to voice the Soldier at that point because well... R.I.P. Rick May.

some kind of elder god from Quake 1
He's a giant eyeball with tentacles created by the Great Robert E Howard who fought Dr. Strange and Conan, and bodies fools in Capcom crossovers. :p
